It's another way for a team to keep control of a player. If a contract contains an exhibit 10, it's a 1 year, minimum, non-guaranteed contract, that can pay the player from $5,000 to $50,000 if the player is waived by his NBA team, signs with the G-League, is assigned to the NBA team's G-League affiliate, and stays there at least 60 days. A team can have up to six Exhibit 10 contracts, so expect to see the Warriors sign more before training camp. The Exhibit 10 bonus doesn't count towards team salary, so it won't affect the hard cap.

EDIT: I should have mentioned that with an Exhibit 10 clause, no salary is paid until opening day, so as long as the player is waived before then nothing goes towards team salary and they stay below the hard cap.
