GOAT Raptors RGM Poll

Post#1 » by Pet Poeltl » Mon Aug 12, 2019 1:05 am

Dog days of summer and not too much to discuss right now. Thought it might be fun to see Raptors board consensus of the top Raptors all time ranking. If we have decent participation we can do top 15 maybe? I believe we did this a few years ago but let’s have a fresh list. Let’s consider team and personal accomplishments, longevity, awards, etc...

Will keep these polls open 24-48 hours depending on board opinion.

I assume top 5 will be a mix consisting of KL, VC, DD, CB4 and KL2 so feel free to throw in a possible nomination if you are replying.

Lowry is the greatest Raptor. But to me GOAT is about talent too.

In the end I think talent trumps, and I would say Kawhi. To me it's,

Kawhi
Lowry
Carter
Who cares.

Lowry is the GOAT raptor based on longevity and just keeping the Raps together.

Kawhi is the GOAT raptor because he is the biggest reason we win the championship last season. Without him, we don't win Philly in a game winning shot, don't gentlemen sweep the Bucks and we don't sweep the Warriors at the Oracle arena.

Raptors GOAT List
1. Lowry - Accomplishments & Longevity
2. Kawhi - No one will ever have his playoff run, accomplished more in one year than any other Raptor
3. DeMar - Accomplishments, longevity, set culture (grind in offseason and get better every year)
4. Vince
5. Bosh
6. Siakam - Could arguably and will likely be fifth, was an extremely solid 2nd option for the championship team all year and did hit the championship clinching shot over Draymond.

After top 5/6 feel like its kind of pointless because it was all role players outside of Antonio Davis, Stoudamire, Bargnani, Rudy Gay

Lowry and Kawhi is the only discussion.

And Lowry wins.

1b. Kawhi (best player)

Rank them wherever you want,,,, but Vince, DeMar, Bosh, T-Mac, (even Kawhi?), as well as Damon, all hurt themselves here with how they handled their departures.

Lowry....but Kawhi could've easily taken that crown if he stayed for at least one more season

Wow .. Demar should be no higher than no. 4, ever. This fanbase is something else

To me it's Kawhi. I get why people are picking Lowry and can't argue really for all he's done for this team but to me there's no doubt Kawhi got this team over that giant hump of playoff failure. You could almost see the change in attitude of this team this year. Nothing fazed them. Not losing game 1 against the Magic, not going down 2-1 in a crazy tough series against Philly, not going down 2-0 against the no. 1 team in the NBA. He put that winning mind set into every player on this team and that, in addition to his stellar play, got us to the Larry OB.

Agreed. This fanbase IS something else. Still thinking that winning a dunk contest (the crowning achievement of his career which is pathetic for someone as talented as he was) actually mattered in bringing this franchise to where it is today.

Kawhi was a hired gun. Kyle bleeds purple, even though he never played in a purple uniform. Easy answer here.
