Who's a more "legendary" player, Dirk or KG?

Inspired by that other thread. I thought 00's Lebron should have been replaced by Dirk, and someone suggested it should have been KG.

Regardless of who you think was a better player, or had a better career, who is more "legendary" in terms of NBA mythos and epic moments and popularity and all that stuff.

I'd go with Dirk. 1 team his whole career and his is seen as single handedly carrying the Mavs to the championship over the big, bad Miami Heat.

Dirk. 2011 propelled him beyond several legendary players. That includes KG.

I guess I should say that technically, in the context of that thread, Dirk hadnt won his title yet in the 00's and KG had.

For some reason I still feel like Dirk had more mythos.

Dirk had the run to beat Lebron and that will live forever, but KG was an undoubtedly superior player. Not sure what legendary means in that context

Not gonna debate but this thread has essentially made me realize how casuals could think they were ever close as players.

Dirk is more memorable, and legendary. His career arc is easily definable and his playstyle is simple to capture.

Legendary in what sense? Better or more well known? Dirk is more well known throughout the world, but KG was the better player.

Wasn't on his level as a player but beating the champs, the upcoming dynasty and the team that was supposed to win 7 rings is as legendary as it gets.

KG was the better player and possibly due to being more athletic. However, Dirk's career is more storybook, and he's more known around the Globe.

KG was better and more legendary.

Screaming "anything is possible" is one of the greatest moments in NBA history.

His energy and intensity was legendary.

The way his hood sticks to the back of his head is mythical.

Dirk vs KG is a pretty good debate. Both are pretty much neck to neck as far as legacy and legend goes. Personally, I'd give the nod to Dirk because his championship run was more special.

KG was the better player though.

"Moments" are what propels you beyond your peers.

Dirk is the greatest foreign born player of all time and won his title as the far and away #1. KG needed two other all-stars in their prime to win. They both won MVPs.

Let's not forget that Dirk carried a basic Mavs team with Jet Terry as his 2nd banana to the Finals and took Wade, Shaq and ref whistles to 6 games.

Definitely better and more legendary than K.G., even before his Finals win in 2011.

Dirk. Changed the way 7 footers play.

Also he led a team with a bunch of very good role players to a championship.

Dirk's 2011 run was legendary, there were more amazing performances than most of KG's playoff runs combined. Also doesn't hurt that Dirk destroyed KG in head to head matchups.
