Heart wants to put DeRozan here but VC put Toronto on the NBA map. I think without him this team might not have survived ala Vancouver Grizzlies. Only thing that hurts VC is the whole trade demand but I put that on Babcock and Grunwald for bad drafting and lack of support for VC

While I think VC is a lot better than Derozan , I don't think either player accomplished much in their tenure here.
Vince had a huge influence on Canada basketball, but neither player took us to the promise land.
I give the vote to DD just for having played 9 years here, and actually embraced the city and the country.

I don’t think it’s fair to put it on Grunwald when he seemingly catered to Vince’s every want and need. He surrounded him with gritty vets that pushed him to superstardom. He kept the 2001 team
intact at his request and then he brought in Olajuwon also at Vince’s request. Finally got him a secondary scorer in Jalen Rose. All these things ultimately cost him his job. The man you want to put that whole thing on is Richard Peddie. He’s the one who started pushing Vince out the door.

Just my opinion but...

1. Kawhi
2. VC
3. Lowry

If we're going by what level they were at their respective positions and in the league in their time here. But I know Lowry is so beloved by our fanbase I don't expect many to agree.

Vince was all sizzle, no steak. He brought in eye balls but in terms of long term established consistent quality it's Demar all the way. Demar got us to the penultimate stage, then Kawhi gave us the extra push to get it done.

If Carter waited one more season him and Bosh could have been one of the best wing-big duo's in the league.

Also did you forget that in 2002 and 2003 VC was hurt for most of those seasons.

Vince Carter was a flat out better player than Derozan in his prime, and his game would've translated better in this era too.

The GOAT Raptors executive Masai was trying to trade Derozan across multiple seasons, even with all the "loyalty" gimmick attached, because his "loyalty" wasn't worth the contract he was being paid. That's the value Masai himself had on what Derozan ultimately really meant to the franchise. A propped up trade asset.

What's funny is that there is no criteria for "best all-time Raptor", which is a very vague term and is open to interpretation.

If it is by Talent:

Kawhi
Vince
Lowry
Bosh
Derozan

If it is by impact on franchise and Fanbase:

Vince
Lowry and DeMar
Kawhi
Bosh

If it is by a combination of the two categories above:

Lowry
Kawhi
Vince
DeMar
Bosh

You're right. In the first poll I mentioned:

Let’s consider team and personal accomplishments, longevity, awards, etc...

So basically combo of the two. I'll include this in future polls.

The Raptors had 0% chance of relocating or losing its franchise, so no.

He made the team and city more popular before he b*tched out, I'll give him that.

He didn't go dick except handicap the franchise by destroying his trade value. He quit on the team and gave away plays. That scrub doesn't deserve ****. Toronto was a strong enough market to support a basketball team with or without him.
