Does anyone play basketball in parks?
I'm a student working on a research project that has to do with how people find basketball parks. I am looking for people who go to basketball parks so I can ask some questions. It will be just 10 minutes and through either skype or google hangouts, etc. Can anyone help me out? I would really appreciate it.

That's the general topic but there are questions that are deeper such as if they use any apps or websites to search around their area, expectations, likes and dislikes about a particular product if they happen to use one,etc

In my experience, proximity is the most deciding factor.
2nd Would be level of competition.
3rd. Availability of court space

You're welcome and good luck on your project.
Honestly I've done interviews before , ppl can be apprehensive, not sure what approach you are planning but consider playing with them to possibly earn their trust.
You don't want to look like the police ,lol. Maybe it won't come down that but maybe you can get some tough nuts to crack.

Harrisonburg is apparently called, the friendly city. Damn man, they're right. Even the people who have **** jobs, like customer service, are friendly, with happy conversations, and smiles.
The weather, so far, is better than NY. It was hotter in Catskills than down here, for a while. I think summer just lasts longer here.
It's very diverse, in that Harrisonburg is a major hub for immigrants. I like that, I just feel bad because I don't speak any other languages. As a teacher, it's tough to help families because the majority of the population speaks Spanish, Kurdish, Swahili, and a bunch of others.
But do far, every family, English or not, are so damn friendly. NY, at least upstate, are surly and want nothing to do with being nice, or have basic common courtesies, and I lived there for 32 years. I'm not going back.
If you're talking the pickup, I'm not sure because I haven't had a chance to play yet. There are a **** ton of parks at every corner of the city though. James Madison University is in the city, so my guess is the pickup games will pick up once the college kids come back

What's the matter with them? Why are they so friendly?
I never heard of anything like that happening before.

You may be being sarcastic, but it's scary the differences are here. Annoying, too. Everyone is so surly in NY. I'm sure there are ****, but I haven't met one yet

Supposedly people upstate are friendlier but can’t say I’ve experienced that.

I'm from upstate NY. But way upstate like Catskill mountains.
They are not friendlier. Most are ****. You'll find good, small pocket towns, like a Windham or copake, that are pleasant with great, friendly people.
But just about everyone sucks up there, too.

My family doctor is from West Virginia and we commiserated over the number of hostile/angry people here on Long Island. She said that initially, it changed her because she just naturally reacted to people giving her the finger, screaming, cursing, whatever. Then she realized that if she was going to survive living here (she's married to an NYPD cop), SHE would have to change and that was the "medical advice" she gave me. She also said, "meditate a lot and smoke weed." lol
Anyhow, glad you're enjoying it. Btw, I'm sure they're just as mean down there. They just do it behind your back.
