I firmly believe we could field a team of solely of veteran role player journeymen types that’d have a legit shot to win gold under Pop.

George Hill, Seth Curry, DJ Augustine
Garrett Temple, E’Twaun Moore
Danny Green, Wes Matthews
Anthony Tolliver, Mike Scott, Jared Dudley
Dewayne Dedmon, Ed Davis

This is by far your worst post since i started reading this forum :D

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

Two points and also one more point:
1) Why Ed Davis has floated around the league and been secured with team-friendly contracts at each stop continues to mystify me.

2) That is a team light on talent but your point stands. A team full of scorers is not necessarily the best team. For crissakes, Ken Fareid was top three in terms of impact on his squad. When Colonel K was calling shots, he ran a pressing defense with personnel unequipped for it. It wasn't good! Or should I say, it was good when it was working, it was disastrous when it wasn't. You know who it reminded me of, kiddos? That would be the head potato in charge / Los Angeles Lakers interim coach for the 2021-22 season.

3) Anthony Tolliver would be terrific in international play. 100% dick serious here.

Nah. They’d medal for sure. You know I have FIBA love, but top internationals are overrated and average NBA dudes underrated by Euroleague fans because they don’t realize how much better/deeper the competition is in the states. A twelve man NBA squad of smart, two way vets with range could beat anybody.

This was a really rough watch. Not a fan of the way Brook was being neglected/talked to. You could tell by his body language towards the end he wasn’t having a lot of fun.

Yeah he was one of the only ones who gave a damn out there. He and Khris are going to be much happier when Bucks training camp starts.

My fear with this USA squad is they have too many dudes who are kinda rigid offensively. Not a great passing team.

Knew it was going to be rough right away with that shot Tatum put up that was like 3 feet off to the side.

Are you trying to infer that PJ Tucker isn't a great creator?

Team USA doesn't even have close to the best player in the tournament, not even the 2nd best, so it's hard to have the same expectations as previous teams. Look at the 88 Olympic team with amateurs and its way more stacked than the current one. If this US team wins the gold I'd honestly be surprised. I guess this is the cycle we go in, need to get embarrassed like 2002 & 2004 for the US to give a damn again. The talent difference is just becoming less and less.

Νot enough passing/ballhandling and shot creators apart from the PGs. Athleticism and is not gonna help if you can't dribble past your opponents or shoot over them once the play eventually breaks down.

Think you're gonna be seeing a whole lot more of this now that NBA contracts, even for the role-player types, keep getting larger and larger.
