I have ZERO problem with this, like ZERO-0%-Nada-Nothing-Not even the slightest problem with this, but since i'm the one that brought it up,i'll be damned if i let you use that MeME FoR Me-LiKE I DuNO WhAT I am TaLKiNg ABouT.
Cheers.
Does it occur to you the possibility that people who weren't voting for Simmons and Mitchell but someone else (like Siakam) voted for Lowry this time? That's what happened in my case. I didn't vote for Simmons and I have yet to vote for Mitchell.
Raps fans coming into the picture may have played a role, but it's inaccurate to act like it tells the whole story.
Lowry was tied for 5th with 11 votes the last poll, and suddenly leads the next one with 99 votes (and counting). It's no coincident that the moment a Raptors player is chosen, the other Raps player gets an unbelievable jump in votes.
If you pay attention to the voting pattern in this project, the #2 voted player in a vote always gets picked in the next poll (exceptions: the injured Durant, and Jrue Holiday after a very close poll).
This is no co-incident and it's a little sad to see how a fanbase manipulates a very intriguing project.
Raps fans are heroes. They waited until it would be an absolute miscarriage of justice for Lowry and Siakam to go one spot lower and then they stepped in. Come on, Mitchell has no case over either one of them. Even in the box score, Lowry’s clearly superior and Lowry might be the #1 “box score doesn’t capture his game” guy in the league.
Regular season
Lowry: 16.5 PER on .562 TS%, .144 WS/48, 3.1 BPM
Mitchell: 17.2 PER on .537 TS%, .092 WS/48, 0.6 BPM
Postseason
Lowry: 15.4 PER on .576 TS%, .150 WS/48, 3.9 BPM
Mitchell: 6.8 PER on .423 TS%, -.120 WS/48, -6.0 BPM
I mean Lowry’s so old and washed up that in his 24th playoff game last year without missing a single one while averaging 38 MPG, all he had left was a 26/7/10/3 game on .697 TS% to ice the Finals. You’re telling me that in next year’s playoffs you’d rather have Mitchell over that? Seriously?
Now if only we had a fan base to support Chris Paul in the next vote. Maybe the Raps fans could stick around? Paul is a very Lowry-like player. Elite defensive PG, great shooter, great passer. Does the little things. Aging, but still a top 5 PG in the league.
