Does it occur to you the possibility that people who weren't voting for Simmons and Mitchell but someone else (like Siakam) voted for Lowry this time? That's what happened in my case. I didn't vote for Simmons and I have yet to vote for Mitchell.

Raps fans coming into the picture may have played a role, but it's inaccurate to act like it tells the whole story.

Lowry was tied for 5th with 11 votes the last poll, and suddenly leads the next one with 99 votes (and counting). It's no coincident that the moment a Raptors player is chosen, the other Raps player gets an unbelievable jump in votes.
If you pay attention to the voting pattern in this project, the #2 voted player in a vote always gets picked in the next poll (exceptions: the injured Durant, and Jrue Holiday after a very close poll).
This is no co-incident and it's a little sad to see how a fanbase manipulates a very intriguing project.

Raps fans are heroes. They waited until it would be an absolute miscarriage of justice for Lowry and Siakam to go one spot lower and then they stepped in. Come on, Mitchell has no case over either one of them. Even in the box score, Lowry’s clearly superior and Lowry might be the #1 “box score doesn’t capture his game” guy in the league.

Regular season
Lowry: 16.5 PER on .562 TS%, .144 WS/48, 3.1 BPM
Mitchell: 17.2 PER on .537 TS%, .092 WS/48, 0.6 BPM

Postseason
Lowry: 15.4 PER on .576 TS%, .150 WS/48, 3.9 BPM
Mitchell: 6.8 PER on .423 TS%, -.120 WS/48, -6.0 BPM

I mean Lowry’s so old and washed up that in his 24th playoff game last year without missing a single one while averaging 38 MPG, all he had left was a 26/7/10/3 game on .697 TS% to ice the Finals. You’re telling me that in next year’s playoffs you’d rather have Mitchell over that? Seriously?

Now if only we had a fan base to support Chris Paul in the next vote. Maybe the Raps fans could stick around? Paul is a very Lowry-like player. Elite defensive PG, great shooter, great passer. Does the little things. Aging, but still a top 5 PG in the league.

Put out the rallying call just because it would be criminal for them to go any lower. I mean for goodness sake there are guys voting for Durant here. Green at #15? Turn in your voting cards please.

I've been voting for CP3 for 4 polls straight now, and Mitchell hasn't gotten a vote from me yet.
My point is that Raps fans are clearly manipulating this project, hopping in to support their players as if this vote actually means anything and is gonna help them win more games.

I’ve voted Lowry the last three rounds and only changed my votes to Simmons and Siakim (then back to Lowry) when it looked like the decidedly not-top-25 Donovan Mitchell might snag an undeserved spot.

I am not a Raps fan at all, but Lowry (and, for that matter, CP3, my least favorite player in the whole league) should have been in already.

Or maybe they were like “people are voting Mitchell over Siakam and Lowry? That’s cray!” I mean I don’t think they were all like “hey let’s vote Siakam and Lowry higher than they deserve for the LULZ”. I think they just felt like their players were being undervalued and wanted to see them get a fair shake. On my personal list I have: 13. Siakam 15. Paul 17. Lowry so I’m just happy to see a couple more deserving players get in before we finish.

For point guards being worse at 33 than 32, just look at Chris Paul. He was way better in 2018 than 2019.

Thats exactly what I'm saying. I absolutely think they believe they're deserving of these spots, but the problem is that at this point its just a question of which team has the most fans on RealGM.
You don't see other fanbases vote this way, as evidenced by previous polls. I'm sure every fanbase thinks some of their players are underrated, and while of course some people on every fanbase will vote based on homerism, you see the end result being rather diverse. Meanwhile, there's no diversity on Raps votes.
It makes no sense to me that practically ALL of the Raps fanbase thinks their players are undervalued. If other fanbases can, as a whole, be a little more objective, then I expect the same from Raps fans.

We all argue so vehemently. The honest truth is the difference between these players is razor thin.

All Dray did was lead a Finals team in playoff on/off for the 3rd time in the last 5 years. What a bum, right? He should have gone higher IMO.

Meanwhile, Westbrook is so washed that you can’t even really have him on a winning team and he went 3 spots higher. He was the worst pick by far. Draymond >>> Westbrook.

On\off, cool stat.
Switch Donkey with WB and Okla likely don't make the PO with Donley's regular season 11+7.

Cool, so Westbrook with all his rest from going out in the first round the last couple seasons has more energy to lead a mediocre team to the playoffs in the regular season while all Dray can do is be the best possible #2 for a championship contender. Hmmm, tough choice.

I see you have never watched Draymond Green play basketball. Stick to box-scores.

Watching the anti-Mitchell vote condense for the last three votes has been pretty entertaining tbh.

Players may be talking about how good Mitchell looks in camp. It has yet to translate to even the FIBA games but everyones excited their hype will translate to NBA games?

Its a little sad to see fans get blinded by brands over substance.

Lowry wasn't a high draft pick, he doesnt have a major shoe deal and theres no flash to his game. That said, he makes a huge impact every time he's on the floor and clearly makes his team play better.

Lowry has finished #15, #9, #10, #7 and #25 overall in ESPN RPM the last 5 years and he's pretty much been consistently in the top 20 range of every advanced stat that measures actual impact.....that kind of stuff doesnt happen by fluke.

Lowry being voted #24 in this poll is perfectly inline with his actual impact.

The fact that people are standing on the table for Mitchell to be this high, let alone in the poll at this point is baffling to me. If he was on the Wolves in early 2000's his name would be JR Ryder.
