If Canada showed up with their strongest team, coached by Nick Nurse, they could have definitely challenged this USA team. Next year's Olympic tournament might be the strongest ever.

Where’s Wiggins?

Is he resting from his long and grueling NBA season?

Fans cheering for Lopez to get back into the game. Not sure what's going on but every time the camera shows him the arena erupts!

Yeah, I was going to say if Team USA brings out the heavy hitters there's no team on the planet that has a chance in hell.

That's why I said "aside USA". But to me they might be the best of the rest at full strength

Australia is pretty formidable at full strength.

As for the US, I don't see the injury prone guys like Kawhi, curry, Durant, AD playing.

I expect a team more along the lines of Towns, Fox, Tatum, Mitchell, Zion

Not even invited to training camp

The Aussie commentators are very polite but like Every. Single. Time USA made a mistake it was "... alarm bells must be going off", "they've got a lot of work to do." Just far too much import on every single missed opportunity or error. ALL. GAME. LONG. We get it. But on the other end, opponent scored 4 points in a row "oh they're making a run" meanwhile they're down like 15. Nevermind a thumb, this was an entire butt cheek on the scale of impartial commentating.

How about mentioning a whole new team coming together, new guys stepping up each game, winning handily despite poor shooting, great D and rebounding, new starters every game. So other teams 'must be salivating' while USA has no room for improvement? Just asking for some semblance of balance. It got grating to have to hear the needle stuck for the whole game.

Come on. USA played horrible. They should be beating this Canadian team by 40. They were right in what they said. USA are gold medal favs and if they play like this against the likes of Serbia or Greece they won’t win.

Actually they did many things better this game compared to the last one - rebounding, D to O transition, leading end to end, solid defense leading to points off TOs, other guys stepping up, winning rather easily despite poor shooting and too many turnovers - but that hardly got any notice. That's not to say they could not have played better, and they will, but I'm talking about the doom and gloom after just about every mistake. As a fan watching the game, you want some context beyond oh they lost a game followed by every play being over-scrutinized which ends with some dire warning about what each may mean. So USA won't improve? They sucked yet were up 24; the final plays of the game - though Pop will have them watch film - were inconsequential to the outcome.

I was hoping for some balance and insight, and there was hardly any.

I'm soooooo happy I ended up watching the Aus/USA game. Those Lopez chants at the end were amazing and I fully endorse finding something random to root for in a blowout.

I am an American and I'm against this USA team. Too many guys that have no fire, or shoot to much, or don't know how to shoot. It's not only boring, but it's soft, me-first basketball by just a poorly constructed squad of guys that are hard to get excited about.

"Yay, Jayson Tatum has the ball. Watch him take a low percentage, long distance 2."

"Go blonde Kuzma. Sure, you are a premier scorer."

"Who doesn't want to watch a two man game between Kemba Walker and Myles Turner, perhaps with a kick out to Harrison Barnes for an open 3 in the corner? Fun."

Kuzma isn't on the team anymore.

Yeah but if the Americans showed up with their strongest team Canada will be blown out by 20+ points.

America wins by 16 points but we played horribly  .

The amount of vitriol being spewed about this team is nauseating.

Someone please explain to me why Mitchell is getting so much praise on Team USA?

I think this is the 4th straight game that he shot under 50% from the field and had more turnovers than assists. I didn't watch the game, so maybe he was amazing, but 5-12 with 3 rbs, 4 assists and 5 TOs doesn't sound all that great to me.

They have some good offensive players, but most of them are absolutely atrocious at defense.
