So he’s mad because they didn’t give him tickets and the security guard was giving him attitude?

Why was this even an article? Slow news day?
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

Seriously. He talks like he’s reminiscing when the Warriors were the humble, lovable losers when he wasn’t even around for that. Lol.

He does seem entitled but it should be common courtesy to treat other professional athletes that play in the same city with love as there part of the organization.

He was traded to the As on Nov. 2015.

Dude is an ass clown. Probably got mad he didn't get preferential treatment after telling the parking lot attendant he was "somebody".

That's not exactly good news for the NBA. No?

I don't follow the sport myself. But, Baseball overall has been on the decline, no? Ratings/Attendance.

I read the article and he’s clearly talking about the organization and not the players. Still, some of his complaints don’t even fall in the category of the Warriors org and moreso that he was complaining about how popular they were

I liken it to the football team not being jerks to the basketball team and vice versa at a high school. Like if one team was really good and the other team was just average and the good team walked around treating all the other teams like crap imagine what colossal jerks they would be. Think that’s what he talking about.

He’s likely mad that whoever he interacted with didn’t know who the hell he was. That’s basically what it comes down to. He thinks he’s somebody important and the people he interacted with didn’t have the first clue who he was.

I used to make posts like that around here. After reading this thread I realize what a douche I must've sounded like, because I do kinda like baseball now. Sorry y'all.

Playoff baseball has easily been better than playoff basketball recently.

MLB IG account: 5.7 million

NBA IG account: 39.6 million

in 10 years no one is going to be watching baseball, pretty much all old people.

MLB was pretty much always above the NBA in terms of viewership. Recently, the NBA caught up and maybe surpassed the MLB. But, they are still very close.

This image obviously isn't perfect but it shows the NBA Finals vs. the World Series. I think the two are still neck and neck if you look at more recent data as well:

Athletics Player Liam Hendriks Slams Golden State Warriors: 'They Treated Us Like Sh*t'
Oakland Athletics closer Liam Hendriks went full scorched earth in an interview with The Athletic, bashing the Golden State Warriors over how he was treated by the organization, especially after the team got good. "I don't follow the Warriors. They treated us like s**t over here so we don’t care for them much," Hendriks said about how Golden State switched up on him and his teammates once they became the toast of the town.

"When the Warriors sucked and the A’s were good, the A's would give them tickets," Hendriks said. "When the Warriors became good they decided to cut all ties and become ****. So, no love lost for them leaving." Starting this upcoming season, the Warriors will begin playing in their new arena, the Chase Center, in San Francisco, after ending their nearly five decade-long tenure in Oakland's Oracle Arena. The A's play next door at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.

Hendriks claims the mean-spirited behavior extended to their parking lot attendants. He said he was once told that his status as a player on the Athletics means less than that of an average Warriors fan. "I got told I'm not as important as a player for the A's as a fan for the Warriors is," he recalled. "He wouldn’t let us out of the F Lot. We’re trying to get out and he wouldn’t let us out."

People may not be familiar with Hendriks, but he was selected to his All-Star Game this year in his ninth MLB season. He has a career-best 1.43 ERA and 16 saves this season.

i have no doubt he seems to be talking for a lot of A's. this doesn't sound like one person's opinion.
i have THREE friends in the area, one in the city, two near fremont - they cannot stand gsw fans. they said gsw fans, including a cadre of in-laws, are arrogant and entitled.

i will also add that my two of my friends are mildly conservative/indy and have definite opinions about liberals(sf being a heavily liberal city) and how "they[liberals] feel their opinions are righteous and you're stupid if you're conservative".

i'd be curious to know, although i'm talking 35yrs ago in a different era different zeitgeist, how the niner fans were

Yea I never understand why the fans here always seem to feel the need to slam other sports just to lift ours. Personally, I took more pride in being a hardcore NBA guy in the mid 2000's pre-decision before all the bandwagon fans showed up and bought a "we're the **** and everyone else sucks" attitude.

I love threads that act like Warrior fans never knew what life was like before winning. Warrior fans remember those days, just like Pepperidge Farms remembers. These are Warrior fans before KD or Curry were even in the league.

Image

The Warriors have always had a loyal, hardcore fanbase. In fact, one of the reasons that Chris Cohan (1 playoff appearance in 15 seasons) was able to own the team for so long and was still profitable despite all his losing was because Warrior fans were loyal and still showed up in large numbers.

Did they "gain" a bunch of bandwagon fans once they became successful? Of course they did. Just like the Bulls did during the MJ days and just like the Lakers have always attracted the casual onlookers. Don't blame any franchise or the hardcore fans for people who hopped on the bandwagon. It would be far more arrogant to tell people "you guys aren't the true fans, please stay off our bandwagon."
