Additionally, Zaza brought back as a consultant...and the other Lacob kid will be the Director of Team Development.

Nepotism makes workplace environments a bit toxic ... I know its an instinct in parenting, but my experience always has been less than ideal when the office is stacked with friends and family. TOO many chiefs and no Indians and workloads that lead to burn out and rotation of employees. This can go sideways.

It is a little squirmy. When this started, we all (cue someone chiming in with, "Not me!") assumed the appointment of Kirk was a total joke, was wildly irresponsible, and would lead to embarrassment. A few years later... not a lot of embarrassment has been had. So I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt and credit where due. But yes, the nepotism thing always looms. If he screws up a few times, does Joe fire him?

Kirk has earned the spot, surprised Dunleavy moved as far up as quickly as he did. I wish Kerr would put as much into his staff.

The few times I've heard players talk about Kirk they said he busts his ass and does a great job.

If you know history, only a small number of big companies managed to stay competitive by handing the keys to the children.

At least when things go south we know that Dunleavy will blame someone else.

Kirk has been working in the organization for a while. Sounds like he has worked his way up and wasn't just given a role. Why are people sour on this besides being Joe's kid?

Did we really have anyone with more experience and insight within the organization than Kirk? I don't know everyone within the organization but I have seen the guy at Summer League with the staff every year, we always have the same guys around unless they leave the organization.

There are plenty of businesses that expanded once the children took over too.

A few famous kids who followed their parents into the family business off the top of my head ... Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kobe Bryant, Peyton Manning, Barry Bonds, Ken Griffey Jr., etc.

It happens with business too. The Fords did it with great success, Porsche, Fidelity Investments, Icahn, Murdock, Newman, Berkshire Hathaway, Comcast.

Kirk busted his ass to earn the spot and he's been doing a good job from all accounts.

It's ALWAYS a pleasure to post the one, the only, Manleavy.

They've hired him so Bob can play good cop, until the Manleavy Bad cop needs to step in to get the deal done.

Following a parents profession different than nepotism rising ranks in a corporate structure. Hey lucky guy. Probably doing a good job. That being said, regular employees , in that environment can get hosed. Sucks when good position and upward mobility is NOT solely on merit.

Almost like being in govt if not a mara lago member, trumpite, or billionaire, you're hosed.

Kirk is smart but I had no idea there was a 3rd Lacob on the roster. Makes it a bit more smarmy in my eyes.
