Dunn is the lone distraction on a roster that's otherwise surprisingly promising. Get rid of him.
First, you won't cut Dunn either way. His salary is too valuable in trade matching situations.
I also think your comparison may be right, but here are a few things to consider:
1: You assume Dunn is a distraction instead of a guy busting his ass in his contract year.
2: You assume Dunn won't stay in his lane.
3: You assume that the rest of the roster will be good enough that having a much less talented Shaq won't be a problem. Bulls gave up on JR Smith in 2005 for that reason, and man would he have been perfect if they kept him.
I'm not that high on Dunn, but I think the pendulum has swung too far the other way in how Bulls fans view him.
