Thankfully Nurse was spared from making such a difficult decision.

OT but :It is amazing how overhyped the Nets are because they signed Durant and Irving.
The Nets suck...and Sean Marks is incredibly overrated.
People give him the benefit of the doubt because he took over the Nets when they were completely rock bottom, with no lotto picks.
He had full autonomy and an unlimited budget to absorb bad contracts, and put together a team of decent but middling talent. Jarret, Caris, and Dinwiddie are solid players but none will ever be starting on any sort of a contender. Decent role players, but severely overrated (just because they were drafted late).
He traded for D'Angelo Russell, who they didn't want to commit to long term anyway... and they traded a late pick for him that turned out to be Kuzma (who is more valuable now).
They made the playoffs, only because the East is five-deep and this team had zero potential for being anything other than first round fodder for years to come.
Main reason for their contender status is that Kyrie was a Nets fan growing up.
That's it.
Sean's moves were neither bad nor good. Just kinda expected, and they had unlimited funds and autonomy to do it.

All true but compared to Billy King, Sean Marks looks like Masai.

Umm No.....
Navigating the crap cap and pick situation they were in took skill. Serious revisionist history going on here. If they didn't have cap space and a solid nucleus of players this summer there was no way they get kyrie and Durant. Sean Marks should be getting a tonne of credit for rebuilding that team.

Man, if Sean Marks is "incredibly overrated", then what the hell do you call Danny Ainge? An English phrase hasn't yet been invented that describes Ainge's recent professional status, but in math terms it would be:
(incredibly overrated) to the nth power, where n = the number of first round picks Danny has had over the last five seasons.

Marks is easily a top-3 GM in the NBA. What he did with that team is nothing short of masterful. The Nets were literally the worst situation in the NBA.
I thought this was another tiger7 grabbing a photo with Bruno type situation. Disappointed.Kabookalu wrote:I thought this was an entirely new Bruno topic and I got excited.
