Re: FIBA WORLD CUP 2019
Holding the US below 70 points is definitely a great accomplished but I'm afraid that it doesn't accurately depict what happened in the game. The US was able to crack our zone open a number of times and get open shots from the perimeter that they just missed (they shot 7/30 from 3). Middleton and Mitchell combined for 2/12 from 3 and that's just not going to happen very often. We did play good defense in the first quarter but Pop was able to adjust after that and his team got a comfortable win.
The moment that the US went to their 3 guard line-up both Bourousis and Papagiannis became unplayable. Continuing to play them was a bad call and our coach only adjusted to that change in the final 5 minutes of the game. At that point, it was too late. Papanikolaou, Bourousis and Calathes were very bad for us throughout the game. Papanikolaou turned down open 3-point shots and Bourousis would be on the post with someone like Jaylen Brown guarding him and instead of shooting a hook over him, he'd just pass the ball out. All 3 of them were afraid to shoot and it created massive problems for our offense.
Thanasis should have played more. He was the only one who could match the American team athletically and since we weren't making any 3s anyway, it would be in our favor to try to push the pace. Mantzaris and Larentzakis could have also played more. Papapetrou, Sloukas and Printezis shot horribly but at least they didn't back down so I can't blame them. All I can do is hope that they'll shoot better against the Czech Republic.
We have a very tough game ahead of us. Let's see what happens.

So USA will win its group and play the loser of France/Australia in the quarter-finals. That France/Aus game should be good.

Man Sloukas is a baller. Love watching him
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Greece are too weak, they would lose anyway but not by 20 if Giannis could shoot, pass better.

Re: FIBA WORLD CUP 2019
You are allowed to slap the ball when it's on the rim. That's what Gobert tried to do but hit the rim first and the refs missed it.
Like i said. When you allow the ball to be fiddled with when it's on the rim, these types of scenarios are liable to happen. Players will slap the ball and it happens so fast that sometimes it's hard to see if the contact with the rim was made prior or after deflecting the ball... It comes with the territory of the rule. If the rule was the same as in the NBA, these types of events could not occur because the ball can't be messed with when it's above the cylinder.

When there is a goaltending on a FT, does it account for one or two ? (FT = 1 but it is playing again)
LA 2028 (Starters):
Francisco - Strazel - Malédon - Traoré ?
Coulibaly - Fournier
Risacher - Cordinier
Yabusele- Hoard - Essengue/Penda?
Wembanyama - Lessort - Raynaud / Beringer /Sarr?

So Greece needs to beat Czechs by a lot to advance or am I reading the rules wrong?

Greece needs to defeat the Czechs by 12, which is highly unlikely according to their respective performance so far

Yes, 2.
It doesn't mind, De Colo would have scored à buzzer beater then!
More seriously, I feel bad for Lithuanians, such a ref mistake is always hard to accept. But that is part of the game. Did french PGs deserved all their fools? Did such hold up by Lithuania would have been fair?
If only french players could stay serious when they lead by far, we shoud not have such questions ...

Isn't it 16?
3rd tiebreaker goes by point differential and Czech have 340/311 (+29) while Greece has 319/305 (+14). It can't even be by 15 points, because if the point differential is the same, then 4th tiebreaker is the team that scored most points, so it has to be by 16 or more points.

It's a shame that Giannis coincided with the worst shooting Greek team in ages. Imagine him with guys like Spanoulis, Zisis, Fotsis etc.

True, but Giannis not even looking to shoot outside the paint is inexcusable at this point, especially for someone with an MVP award... Also needs a back to the basket game man... his buddy Middleton is better at posting players than him.
