Would hate this. As a city, Portland>>>>>Worcester.

Plus, traffic.

Yeah. But the arena where the Maine Red Claws plays is dilapidated.
The roof leaks, to the point that games have to be cancelled.

If Worcester can come up with a better venue, then Hasta La Bye Bye.
Probably get a bigger audience, as well.

Would be a shorter commute between Worcester and Boston for the players...

That's a big venue = 14,800. IDK if they can get that. It's an existing place, though.

Definitely. They could play 2 games in the same day.

Red Claws will sell out all year if Tacko plays for them....which is likely. Bad time to sell.

Actually a good time to sell, in that there is such optimism and upside. But this doesn't involve the purchase of the team, it is a matter of trying to convince the C's, as the impending team owner, to move to another location. It's basically an hour, as opposed to two hour, drive. I actually think that could make a decent amount of difference for team shuttles and practices. I always thought it would make sense to use some G-league players in tuning up and training NBA players. But I suppose there could be concern about it cutting into the big team's ticket sales and demand.

Worcester is really coming on. Only in part because it is a cheaper housing option, with still an urban vibe, within commuting distance to Boston.

Or the Worcester Shear.

Or, I guess, the Worcester Worms: https://sites.google.com/site/wplfaqs/Home/worcester-wormtown.

Portland has the Cumberland County Civic Center. They can always move there if the Expo sucks.

It's nice but the state is broke and with the P-Bruins and Providence basketball, scheduling another team in the winter would be logistically very difficult.

Worcester would seem to be a developmental city with the Sox AAA affiliate Woosoxs and the Celts Woo C's or a better name if such a thing exists and Holy Cross college Which developed Tommy and Cousey.
