I think it'll be close but I tend to think they'll hold him out unless he's 100%.

With Dee Ford it's not like they are completely without a pass rush if Bosa isn't in and I tend to think they'd rather Bosa get his ankle right and not have it be a lingering issue.

Looked good his first game. His sack was all Ford, but he also put on some pressure that led to a turnover (I think).

If you spend a #2 overall on a defensive player, you want him to be a guy who'll just take a massive dump all over the OL.

With a less mobile QB he would have had 2 more sacks. I think Winston juked him twice

He limped off the field at end of game. Hopefully not serious.

I thought Bosa played okay. Ford was better. Bosa missed the entire preseason and hasn't played in a long time. Not surprised he didn't come out dominant.

:noway: Why are football fans so black & white about things?

50% of the reason I didn't like the Bosa pick was because I think he's going to be hurt all the time. The other 50% is because or Q. Williams (who, ironically, is hurt right now).

Nothing would make me happier than being wrong about Bosa. I'm on record saying Bosa will be a very good player (I don't expect Myles Garrett or Von Miller production but very good). I like him better than I liked Joey Bosa. But I'm still going to be pissed about the pick for the rest of my life if Bosa has a great career and Q has a HOF career.

My take on the draft pick. I was okay on the 49ers taking either WIlliams or Bosa but they better not mess it up again. There is more value in a pass rushing defensive end than there is for an interior defensive player so if they drafted Williams he needs to be alot better than Bosa. If Williams ends up just being a good player than it would have been a wasted pick the the number of dlineman this team had.

He's already producing at that level and he's not even 100%. Try and keep up.

:noway: You're the one having trouble keeping up. Did I ever say he wouldn't produce even one time? I said I thought he's a better prospect than Joey Bosa and a worse prospect than Bradley Chubb. I said the following:

1. Q. Williams will be a more dominant player
2. He's too big of an injury risk for the 2 overall

Excellent start for the young man. I hope he keeps it up & proves me wrong (being better than Q & healthy).

I don't think we can make any kind of judgements about these players after just one game. Lets see how things stack up after the season. Bosa did not practice yesterday to rest his ankle. I hope this isn't an ongoing issue like it was for Brieda last year

Can this thread be kept up to date with Bosa's premium stats?

Believe it or not, I'm rooting for Bosa. And I'm dying to be wrong about him (that he turns into a dominant DE).

And PFF is EXTREMELY dubious at times. However, PFF has Bosa the 3rd-lowest-rated defensive player on the team at 53.2, barely above Solomon Thomas. Something about these outsider nerds isn't adding up.

Meanwhile, Armstead has the 5th highest rating on the team at 77.9 (contract year).

Being the Bama fan I am, I love Q but am glad the team went with Bosa. He may only have a sack but has been getting quite a bit of pressure. Considering he missed camp, I take this as a plus. Line depth has been key and helping to keep these guys fresh. I'm happy seeing DeFo, Armstead, Ford, and Bosa there as it adds something this team hasn't had since Harbaugh's first couple of years here.
