Joe Johnson to the Bulls?

Post#1 » by leo921 » Sun Sep 8, 2019 8:13 pm

Thoughts on trying to get Joe Johnson to the Bulls. Think he would be a great backup 3/4 and he can help the young guys.
Yes he's older but I think he would make an impact on the 2nd unit and can teach White a lot about the league and the game.

A little late, man if the Hawks didn't give him that contract...

But in all seriousness, I'd be happy to bring him in, would be a good bench presence.

As sad as it is, he would be a pretty big upgrade to what we currently have on our bench

Joe Johnson hasn't played in a year.

2 seasons ago he put up a PER of 8.1, and he's absolutely abysmal at all the things PER doesn't measure well.

This is not a guy we want to pursue. You would, quite literally, be better off bringing back Blakeney.

Iso Joe hasn't been a net positive on the court for like half a decade, he'll be perfect when they bring back Player's Only though.

What about Tracy McGrady or Paul Pierce instead?

What a baffling proposition to even make.

The funny part is you all are upset about thinking it, I doubt Joe Johnson has any team in mediocrity hell on his wish list. This guy is trying to chase a ring with a team that actually has a legit chance of winning. His best shot is with the Clippers, Lakers or Sixers.
Joe Johnson wouldn't touch a contract with the basement Bulls right now.

He maybe could provide the offense the Bulls could use but he's been a star and you don't want an old guy coming off the bench who starts to think he can relive the glory days. Joe is different from an Etwann Moore who was never that star but if he comes in he's willing to be a role player and contribute when and how he's needed. Joe Smith, Tim Thomas Kurt Thomas, Bill Wennington all developed into that kind of role player

You’re right and when both sides think it’s a very bad idea, it’s very damn likely that it’s a very bad idea.
