I'm HYPE to start this. I thought the Showtime documentary was absolute flames too.

I'm only just starting the third episode of the doc, even though I started it the week it came out. I was disappointed they didn't focus more on the early years. It seems like by episode 2 they were almost up to date. :-?

I feel you, I wanted them to confirm or deny the old urban legends around those early years (ie: Ghostface wore a mask in the early going to hide from police, the lost music from water damage, etc.) but they did cover some great stories along the way. Plus there's real charm to watching them in a theater reliving old footage and clips. That and all the sacred math stuff always intrigues me, these dudes drop knowledge for days. It went a little too heavy on RZA's brother defending himself, but I kinda got it...Kinda like how you had to accept certain aspects of Straight Outta Compton that were either missing or seemed one part of a three sides story.

Just finished the first 2 episodes. I was skeptical at first, but it’s very good.

The casting is so bad, very distractingly and takes away from my experience

Half the guys just don’t look like their respective counterparts, that’s very distracting for me

I thought I was the only one. Ghostface looks nothing like Ghostface. Raekwon forget it. Only guy they nailed was ODB. Dave East is acceptable but nothing special as Meth. I have to keep telling myself which character is which and it takes me out of it.

That was definitely a distraction for me as well.

Since RZA is the main character, they could have at least nailed that one.

However, the story itself is so immersive that I eventually got over it.

I agree the actors don't look the part, but I can get by it with most of them because they have the feel of the personas they're taking on. I was watching with my brother and a couple of friends and we recognized Ghost, Rae and GZA basically out the gate just off of fashion and how they moved. The one dude I can't get past is Dave East and I actually think he's got the voice down but I just recognize him and can't get off it.

I've enjoyed the hell outta this ish though. There's some stuff that just takes you back (even the way he has everything set up in his room reminds me of how my brother and his friends geared up my basement as a youngster). This has a lot of that and it feels like they're just lining it up to bring these dudes together like the damned Avengers or some ish. I'm really looking forward to the next episode.

I can see why the you guys would be mad at them not looking exactly the same but I love this type of stuff because it can teach the youngins out there that know nothing about Wu-Tang.

My gf is younger than me and she knows nothing about Wu-Tang. She is white girl from PA so shes not hip to all the New York **** that im into. She didnt even know Method Man as a rapper. She only knows him as an actor on How High. **** pisses me off lol but she enjoys the show and its a learning experience for her. I love putting people on to ****. This is a story that needs to be told.

Not to mention Gza produced the show. So if hes okay with which actors were chose to tell their story then im 100% on board with this.

Agreed, takes away from the experience for me.
