Kevin Durant: I Started To Realize I'm Just Different From Rest Of Warriors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Sep 10, 2019 3:08 pm

Kevin Durant spoke about his decision to leave the Golden State Warriors for the Brooklyn Nets during an interview with J.R. Moehringer of the Wall Street Journal.

"As time went on, I started to realize I'm just different from the rest of the guys," said Durant. "It's not a bad thing. Just my circumstances and how I came up in the league. And on top of that, the media always looked at it like KD and the Warriors. So it's like nobody could a full acceptance of me there."

The Warriors already had a well-established core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala before Durant arrived.

Durant calls Kyrie Irving his "best friend in the league."

Sounds like he regrets handing the Warriors two easy titles.

This guy's "woah is me" attitude is getting a little ridiculous. What a unlikeable and sensitive little biatch. Boohoo, dude.

Kyrie being KD's best friends sounds like a mutually beneficial agreement they made to rehab their image. Did anyone know about this friendship before they basically announced it?

KD is going to feel this way on every team he joins.

I think it's time to start calling KD what he is, and that's toxic.

Of course Kyrie is his best friend. They both are drama queens. Let’s see how two large egos on the same team mesh in BKN.

Yeah, on a team of Alphas, I bet a Beta like KD felt out of place. He'll be much happier with his idiot friend Kyrie.

The difference is KD wants to be the Man and Warriors' greatest strength is being a team.

KD in his 1st year with the Ws went out of his way to fit in. He listened to Kerr and played off-ball a lot more and defended. It showed on his better efficiency. After the 1st ring, he seems to be not satisfied being part of the team and let the media noise getting to him. He wanted to be the Man again. He started playing more ISO balls throwing the team off rhythm and thus led to the struggles on the Ws' subsequent playoff run. That's why most people can see Ws play better as a team on the offensive end without KD.

Still, as a 20+ years Ws fan, there's no ill will toward KD. He helped us getting 2 out of last 3 rings and took a huge risk with his health and contract future on the last one. It's been a good run and good luck to him.

Kevin Durant is a real man's man. Basically a lumber jack. A rugged, no nonsense sort of guy, hewn from the very rock of Earth. He might even be reading this :o

I usually use a word like toxic to describe a guy who makes a team worse. Durant, as unlikable as he may be to many, doesn't seem to fit that for me.

KD is not toxic. Outside of Green who is a much more polarizing figure, no one has ever complained about KD or said he causes drama.

I know we like to hate on the guy, but the hate gets out of hand. And he was the alpha on that team no matter how many times you call him cupcake.

But the guy clearly has issues. He is awkward and insecure. His issues will go on long after he retires.
