What a surprise. Well done France!

PS. Does it mean Poland is as good as the US? Both teams lost in the quarters :-D

Great play by Kemba, throwing the game to send everyone home, especially knowing Tatum comes back next game and didn’t want to risk it.

What a team player he is.

The game has passed coach Pop , plain and simple! Your telling me that Rudy Gobert has been destroying you all game and your counter is to go small and put Jaylen Brown on him ? How many dunks and tip ins did Gobert have in the second half ? All while Plumlee, Lopez, and Turner didn’t see a SINGLE minute in the fourth quarter ? No way... someone please get coach Pop out of there!!!

Brown played well again. I think he is in for a huge year.

But everyone tells us what a young stud Turner is???? What was the USA’s reason against Turkey?? Turner and Lopez were better than their C’s, but they only won that game because Turkey choked on their last 4 FT’s. They have not played as a team all tournament and NBA iso ball will not work against the better international teams in FIBA games.

Small ball helped them to make that 17 point swing until Kemba was inserted.
Yeah Kemba playing iso hero ball in 4th ruined the game for USA. Mitchell was destroying France in third, Brown, Smart was playing well. He came in when they led with 7 points and he never passed again...

Barnes was awful also. His travel and black hole offense is real bad in FIBA. If you are going to play Kemba you need a pick and roll partner, that's all Kemba does. HE ran the most in the league. Barnes isn't a pick and roll partner, he's an ISO chucker.

Not surprising. This was not a good USA team, they actually went further without taking an L than I expected. No reliable size whatsoever and no elite-tier (top 10 player in the world) centerpiece was a recipe for disaster.

The Olympics have always been the USA's focus. I don't expect this loss to make a bunch of guys jump into the next World Cup because Americans (both a majority of players and fans) view that as a lesser tournament, but I do think this will motivate a lot of talent to show up for the Olympics to avoid embarrassment when it counts in their minds.

I don't think anything can redeem this even if they win the next 3 world cups.

It's not the 1990s anymore... the US can't just play their 10th best roster and think they can beat the rest of the world. The gap isn't as big anymore.

I agree that trae young would have been better than kemba on this team
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Why are people so surprised the top U.S. players are not playing?
Players like Antetokounmpo or Gobert or Rubio or whoever have a strong fanbase in their home country, where they live during the offseason, so it's obviously important to them. In the U.S. there's almost no media attention for the World Cup. The women's football (soccer) World Cup got way more attention than this, which is ridiculous IMO.
