- Should have beaten Brazil if not for horror 3rd quarter

- Played Greece tough in a tight game

Wonder how hard it is to host the FIBA world cup. Would love to see the Twin Cities put in a bid. People care so little, tickets might be cheap, I'd definilty go to a bunch of games if I could.

The Twin Cities would be a great place to host FIBA World Cup.
There are different sized venues (Target Center, Xcel Energy Center, U. S. Bank Stadium, Williams Arena) and and a lot of people of different nationalities are living in the area.
Not to forget: An excellent reason to visit the Twin Cities again.

The bidding process seems to be not so easy:
There is a deadline to confirm interest for countries wishing to be taken into consideration.
Then there will be a FIBA bidding workshop on hosting FIBA Basketball World Cup for all interested nations.
Around half a year later, FIBA confirmes a shortlist of candidates. Those candidates have to submit their Candidate Files within two months.
Again, after a couple of months, the FIBA Central Board will make a decision and announce the host of the next World Cup.
The whole process takes up to two years.

FIBA World Cup has taken place 18 times so far.
The USA was host once: The 2002 World Cup took place in Indianapolis. Games were played at Conseco Fieldhouse and RCA Dome.

The US continues to get bit in the ass for burying the importance of bigs. Gobert dominated team USA. Bogut dominated for Australia, and Gasol will probably dominate for Spain. WE show up with a C team and play small and people are shocked when a legit big man has their way with us.

It really shows how poor this country is at developing bigs. It's bigger than just a Team USA issue. I do think there's credence to the fact smaller-ball works better in international play, but that's more about the PF than it is about the C.

In the little I've seen of the World Cup, Joe Harris was getting time at the 5. That's just dumb. I understand they couldn't put players on the team who didn't want to play, but there had to be better bigs available.
