USA down by 6 at half. Gobert and Fournier doing damage with 13 each. Batum playing usual invisible man role. Mitchell with 15. Kemba struggling.

Au revoir, USA!!!

French Frank hit some big shots.

I wanna see France vs Spain in the finals. Let's go, Batum. Let's go, Willy.

you guys dont realize how Batum has to be used ! Still stuck on his contract and see things through stats! Nico is a game facilitator, gives great D, passes the ball extremely well and is the most unselfish player (Boris Diaw School)!

No, to be honest Ingles is better! But his presence brings calm to the team and he does the little things that brings a team to win.
Now what we can compare is his level of motivation when he wears the French jersey and the Hornet's one : in France we dont expect him to score, but to make the flow of the game easier, which makes him so much less pressured.
With the hornets and his huge contract, he's expected to show some stats and that makes him stressed in a sense.

Oh, we agree. Boris Diaw school for sure!

FYI that is not a compliment in Charlotte...

for me its more that that; the veteran leadership and kind of connective tissue you describe are a must for winning in International play; not true for this year's Hornets; for the current Hornets roster Batum is in the way of development; His minutes need to go to the likes of Dwayne Bacon, Coby Martin, Ahmed Hill. This team doesn't need Batum as a conductor it needs him out of the way

Yeah, was reading through some 'what went wrong?' takes on the general board and it feels awfully familiar:

On Kemba:

"Biggest problem was just playing iso hero ball with 0 ball movement."

Kemba's D on Frank N at the end could have been better too.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Return to Charlotte Hornets
