In employee parking lot listening to Howard Stern. He stopped mid-sentence and asked:

"Did you guys feel that? I think we're having an earthquake"

Found out shortly after what exactly happened with the first plane (didn't know it was terrorists) and broke the news to all inside of work.

I was in the first grade, came from school and for some reason I remember that it was the first day I came straight to home from school because in the previous week after school I went to my mom's work at kindergarden to wait there as she finished the work and then we both were going home, so as I got back home from school I turned on TV to watch my cartoons, and as I was watching it, they literally cut down the cartoons to show some breaking news about some incident in the USA and I was glued to TV in awe till my parents came back home, I didn't realised that I was watching that horror for three straight hours on news, it was my first experience to see something awful like that and I really thought I was watching a movie as I was just 7 years old at that time and I was home alone watching it.

You know I don't remember a lot of things what happened in my childhood as I'm growing older, but I do have those few moments/days which I remember very well and this September day back in 2001 is one of those days, I still remember the news coverage, I still remember where I was sitting as I was watching this event unfold and even remember what cartoon was I watching before the event unfolded.

It will stick with all of us who witnessed it for the rest of our lives.

Stay safe!

We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

I was in grade 5. My teacher heard about it on the news. She thought it happened in Toronto since there's a building called the "World Trade Center" downtown. When I got home I couldn't play Diablo II and everyone was talking about Bin Laden in the group-chat. Sad that we're witnessing all the jingoisms that began that day now resurface, but that's life, I guess.

I was asleep because I was working the night shift at the time. My boy called me and told me to turn on the tv because a plane crashed into the WTC. At first I thought it was just a freak accident, but then another plane crashed into the other tower, then another plane crashed into the Pentagon, and another plane crashed into a field (I honestly think that plane was shot down).

Not meant to disrespect the victims from 2001 at all(quite the opposite actually), but we should also take some time to think about 9/11/1973 when Richard Nixon and the CIA prepared and helped carry out the Chilean coup, that basically killed and replaced an elected socialist government with the junta of Augusto Pinochet. The estimated casualties of this coup are estimated to be up to 5000 for just the first few month and suffering and death continued under his reign for the next 17 years.

If we would actually pay tribute to all the casualties that are direct results from western, lets call it by its name, terrorism, we would have a day like this in every month and plenty more.

I'm saying this, because those deaths on 9/11 those are maybe the ones we saw, were we couldn't look away, but they weren't uncalled for. Conspiracy theories aside those deaths were direct result of our aggression and if we take our mourning serious we better are aware and stand against the terrorists among us, those in suits and shiny uniforms, with the drones and carriers.

I know this is pretty rich coming from a German, but you can be sure I'll do what is in my power to stop what happened 3 generations ago, from happening tomorrow.

Everything happens for a reason and those people that were victimized yesterday killed without being guilty, they payed a high price to make us act today.

RIP

College on the West coast. I was still awake for no particular reason and was a cable news junkie. Happen to flip on the tube just before the 2nd plane hit. Called my dad and we both watched quietly for about 20 minutes before getting on with our day.

That was the end of an era of political innocence for many Americans like myself who grew up in the 80s and 90s. 18 months later we would begin to take our revenge 100 fold against a country that had nothing at all to do with 9/11. So much evil was unleashed that day, most of it from our own kennels.

Absolutely correct.

Note: that's 5000 deaths in a country with 10 million people in the 9/11 we helped inflict. It would be proportionate to 90,000 deaths from an attack in this country.

Was getting ready for work with the news on in the background, turned around to see the plane hit the 2nd tower. I never made it to work that day. My sister's fiance was in the 2nd tower and I dealt with an office that was in the 1st tower for work so I knew a few people there.

High School Freshman (Seattle Area). I turned the television on as I was getting ready & within a matter of minutes the 2nd plane hit the tower.

That Summer (June/July '01) I actually took a trip to NYC. Saw the World Trade Center up close for the first time. So, for that to happen so soon afterwards was very surreal to say the least. :(
