Click on the picture. Below it is Kobe ranting, basically calling his team losers for taking 4th place and crying about another girl for not showing up.

Never to early to learn life lessons. You want to be good and win at something you better dedicate yourself to it. I was told much harsher things growing up from my parents when it comes to sports, so I don't really see the issue here. If he named the girl or pointed her out in the pic would be one thing.

If this was a boys team and I was on that team and Kobe said this. I know for a fact my parents would say, "he has a point, if you want to stand out and excel in something, you need to be prepared to dedicate all your time to it."

Nah, just pointing out that Kobe is a pretty crappy person.

They're 12 years old. Too many youth coaches treat youth sports like they're life or death and take the fun out of it. It sounds like Kobe is one of those coaches.

Or MAYBE she just wants to play sport and do dance with her friends? Not everyone wants to be the king/queen of the world, and that's ok...

I guess I just don't get what is so harsh about what he said. He basically just said they got 4th and about half the team didn't really care to work hard.

You want to excel at something, be prepared to dedicate time to it. I don't think 12 is too early to learn that. Again I would agree that he crossed a line if he named the girls or pointed them out in the pic. He didn't though.

That's perfectly fine. Kobe is pretty much just saying, don't expect to win basketball tournaments then.

It's just completely unnecessary. Kobe is one of the best basketball players ever. Why does he feel the need to get on Twitter and complain about the preteens on his basketball team not working hard enough?

If you went to a dance recital instead of learning from Black Mamba you deserve to be shamed.

This was probably what ran through Kobe's mind as he wrote it.

The kid made the right decision, he'd be a horrible teacher.
