Blessed be the end-to-end centers, who speed up fast breaks rather than slow them down. Bam Adebayo is at his best when he runs and he knows it. Better yet: he styles his game accordingly, whether that means running a lane for his teammates or bringing the ball up himself. The whole thing makes for quite a show. Adebayo has more speed, bounce, and body control than a 6’10” player rightly should. All he needs is a cohesive way to bring all those attributes together on an even more frequent basis. Once he really harnesses the force of his shot-blocking, he could anchor one of the NBA’s top defenses. If Adebayo puts his ball skills to best use, he could be a key finisher and facilitator for a high-functioning offense. These things take time. In the interim, Adebayo is 22 years old and already a lot to contend with.

Or...

he question with players like Lauri Markkanen is this: When does offensive production translate to winning production? It’s not exactly his fault that the Bulls went 22-60 last season, but it’s also not as if Chicago was anywhere close to breaking even during his minutes on the floor. Young players can be thrilling. They can be promising. Not often are they actually that conducive to winning basketball games, which is the foremost criterion in the making of this list. This ranking reflects a sort of optimism in Markkanen turning the corner this season. He’s entering his third year after showing meaningful progress, he’ll be 23 years old at season’s end, and he’s already showcased his talents to the tune of 18.7 PPG and 9.0 RPG. Markkanen has a chance to be one of the premier stretch bigs in the league. First he just needs to break even.

Once again, Markkanen gets ranked based off potential. I think Okpala should be ranked top 50 just based off potential.

Markkanen is less of project than bam even if it based off potential.

A player could be a project and still be better than a non-project player.

So Tobias Harris is 49? (I think that's too low, btw.) Bojan Bogdanovic is 52. One is about to get paid twice as much as the other one.

Well.... not exactly the best argument. TJ Warren is getting paid only 10m and arguably has better stats then Tobias.

Ranks 100-31, tomorrow the top 30 will be revealed.

I will say this much, where Klay Thompson is ranked on this list is utterly insane. Discuss.

LMAO @ Kuzma

That he made the list?

Barnes ahead of Nurkic, Markannen, Harrell, Sabonis???

Millsap WAY too high.

Pretty bad list.

They've got Khris Middleton too high vis a vis Tobias Harris and Bojan Bogdanovic, imo. But I guess playing on a winning team raises a player's profile.

Once you get in the 18 - 30 range, a number of these players become pretty interchangeable.

Blake Griffin made more pull-up three-pointers on a better percentage last season than Kyrie Irving, CJ McCollum, and Devin Booker

Overall, I thought the list was fair.

Biggest beef with it is Al Horford at #18.

Horford is a very good player.........however no way he is the 18th top player in the NBA.

There's a lot of good thought that has been put into the list, and the writing and analysis is top notch. Still, creating any list of rankings is a hopeless exercise. This one is pretty decent, despite many rankings I disagree with.

I don’t get this. It seems like it’s a list ranking players as they were last year considering most rookies are ranked as if they won’t get better (Trae around 60th, Doncic 30th), but then Durant isn’t there and Klay is punished.

It doesn’t make sense.

What do you know, Simmons ranks 7 places higher than Doncic :P

LMA is higher than expected at 16.

Top 100 is a lot, I have respect for people who have the time to even think that through (though here it is their job). One can always find a criticism of lists this large, but then you try doing your own and you realize, that yea, it's hard.

I agree the list has some oddities, but whatever, these are there to spark discussion and get hits.

His work ethic has always been Kobe level. That's amazing.

For this board's purpose, the

Kuzma (96) vs Tatum (35)
Bam (93) vs Lauri (75)

Should be fun to watch be talked about.

Overall this list looks pretty horrible. LaVine is the 3rd or 4th best player on the Bulls? Ayton put up 16/10 as a rookie but not on here, Bagley was a 17/9 guy in less than 28 minutes on a team that was pretty much .500. Yet Wiggins made the list? Who on here would choose Wiggins over Winslow this year? Anyone?

It seems like for 100-40 they just were picking random names out of a hat almost.

Terrible, terrible list. Vuc and Gordon severely underrated. Middleton somehow ranked better than Lowry, Mitchell, Doncic, and Fox. Young severely underrated. Horford overrated as all hell as usual. And finally, that Klay Thompson ranking. :o

It would be nice if the Magic players got some more respect though. But since we're "irrelevant" no one watches our games. Clearly. Vuc only at 45? Gordon only at 60? Ross behind Aminu? No Fournier in the top 100? How the hell did we even make the playoffs then? Fournier is ten times the player Wiggins is and somehow that lazy bum is 100. Hoping they say that list is a joke, because it is, whether they meant it to be or not.

Really!? In my opinion, they always have good analysis, especially compared to the likes of espn and b/r
