Why not both? Why is country called Oz?

Because we like to shorten everyone's/everything's name, i.e. last name Johnson you will inevitably be nicknaned 'Johno'

See here, in Straya we are too lazy to anunciate every syllable and then to confuse you we add rhyming words to mean just one...

Mr. Biden shot back: “You’ve got more questions? Well, I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t Black.”

So Australia is the favorite now?

Nah... I think no team is above the others and any of the 4 remaining (Argentina, Australia, France or Spain) can win it all or finish without a medal... it will depend on details and inspiration at key moments...

Cheers! ;-)

No, Australia is not a favorite according to bookmakers. And for me, France is probably the biggest favorite. Though I will support Argentina till the end. :)

As similarly suggested by espn guy today, USA should play World cups with american players playing in Euroleague and similar competitions. They would still be favorites, have experience rule and competition wise, would try harder than these guys etc

If USA gets 2\3 of their roster from Euroleague playing americans then even with Harden and AD you won't be getting to the 1\16th.

Still laughable until you give examples of those great american players that will make such team anything close to a favorite.

And they would be favorites against France, Australia, Spain, Serbia...?

Be serious.

You can make solid team for sure. First you have to leave out James, he’s a cancer of any team. Then you can make solid starting 5. Larkin, Higgins, Clyburn, D.Williams, Davies. Even there are some problems, Williams being mental case and Davies undersized C, but bigger problem is what after that. There’s not that many Americans, who have important role in Euroleague. Other competitions are few levels lower. You can ad Dunston, undersized and cannot shoot.

Who would even be players on USA roster? Lets try to pick

C : Kyle Hines / Bryan Dunston
PF : Derrick Williams / Chris SIngleton / James Gist
SF : Will Clyburn / ??
SG : ?? /?? /??
PG : Shane Larkin / Mike James

Add Donovan Mitchel, Deaaron Fox and Paul George to this team and its a great team.

No it’s not. Cs are a joke for that level of competition. Gobert would have eat them alive. Gist is not basketball player anymore. Singleton needs special environment to succeed, he’s the best on C. James a cancer and D. Williams sees himself as a big star, which he obviously is not.

Kyle Hines would have better tournament then Turner, Lopez and Plumlee combined.

On SG put Jaycee Carroll.

Also don't forget Brandon Davies, Cory Higgins and Brad Wanamaker maybe even Nigel Williams Goss.

That's a team just from a Euroleague, and it's a strong one.

Serbia and USA playing for their pride in an otherwise meaningless game.
