Everyone thinks it's terrible, but for different reasons. It's impossible to put together a list that puts every player where their biggest fans think they should be. Put together a list of 25 without scrutiny if you think the list is so bad.

I would just like a list where Orlando's players get some respect for once. Vuc was somewhere in the 90's last year. Then he proves a point and only goes to 45? As the best player on a playoff team? It always feel like the Magic have to earn their respect, meanwhile, certain players are just gifted it. Like Wiggins for example, that man should not be on anyone's top 100.

Looking at the players we ranked here at the top 29, here are the most noticeable differences :
[Player: our ranking --> SI ranking]
Doncic: 20 --> 30
Oladipo: 29 --> 39
Horford: (probably 30) --> 18
Aldridge: (not top 30) --> 16
Middleton: (probably not top 35) --> 27

The fact they put Doncic below Simmons and Siakam is hilarious.

Durant isn't expected to play next season, Klay is. Tough to give an accurate ranking for him based on probably only 2-3 months of play though. I kind of see where they came up with the #58 ranking. Healthy, he's easily better than that. Coming off major injury, he could be a lot worse. But, if he does come back and play, and especially if the Warriors make the playoffs, he could have a major effect on GS's fate in 2020. Ranking him either significantly higher or lower seems wrong, so #58 seems about right.

SI's top 10 list is added. They have:

10 Lillard
9 George
8 Jokic
7 Embiid
6 AD
5 Harden
4 Steph
3 Lebron
2 Kawhi
1 Giannis

That's 8 of the top 10 players in the western conference.

But they reserve the top 2 slots for 2 players who played in the Eastern Conference last year. Illogical.

Siakam should be 25-30, so I don't mind that. Lowry should be 15-20, unless he regresses drastically this year. Not a fan of his rating.

Kawhi should be number #1.

I'd still take LeBron over Giannis, but this is probably the last year I would do so, and I could even end up regretting it this year.

Can't wait for the season to start either way!

Giannis 1, Butler 11, Markkanen 76 (if I read right), ... Shameful

Somehow I feel I prefer Bogdan Bogdanovic/Fournier/Patty Mills/Satoransky/Baynes over half of these guys in the top 100 :)

Give me LeBron, Steph, Harden and Kawhi over Giannis any day. Not saying Giannis isn't great, but his game is nowhere near complete enough to have the edge over those guys. Toronto exposed his limitations last spring. It's fine, he's young and can still get better, but giving him the crown is premature.

Murray is actually 38 (and even that is too low)

Let me give you a hint about FIBA ball vs NBA.
I've spent many summers waiting for Patrick "Steph Curry" Mills to make an appearance in the NBA and lead my Spurs to glory.
He never did.Great role player,but in the NBA there was a "ceiling" to what he could do.

If you're waiting for Baynes to go 5/6 from 3 in a longer court and Fournier bring the same shooting and effectiveness he brings in an 8 game tournament to an 82+Playoffs NBA season you're in for a disappointment.

Different rules,different difficulties,some players can adapt,some players cannot.
But you cannot predict/rank what an NBA player can/will do next season based on a FIBA International Tournament.
