I thought Kyrie was a self absorbed guy who doesn’t sign autographs?

He seems to be doing perfectly fine in NY.

It wasn’t severe enough for your fan base to continue to claim KD will sign there up until June 30th. Should we bump the posts? I still have them saved for the laughs. Just like Laker fans last summer.

It’s going to be real interesting when when the story comes out that he didn’t tear the achilles on his dominant foot which is why he will most likely return at a 90% level in the grand scheme of things aside from being in a system that
allows more catch and shoot potential but we will see...You guys have been on a roll with being wrong for the duration of 2019. Why not be wrong again?

Either way, KD and Kyrie choosing us over the Knicks will last longer than 4 years. It’s not like our front office didn’t sign contract extensions before free agency and it’s not like every other star hasn’t realized we are a legit destination going forward that also takes care of our players.

It isn't a troll attempt at Knicks fans. They're doing this to fill the arena. It is entirely about attendance. Last year the Nets were dead last in average home attendance.

Besides, 10,000 jerseys costs a nice chunk of change and I cant think of any franchise that would spend that kind of money on a "troll attempt." That would immediately get someone fired.

So why the Knicks?

Because the Knicks are the more popular NYC team and if the Nets dont have some sort of promotion their home game will be full of Knicks fans. Obviously.

Have to admit this is a good troll and could convert some Knicks fans. Isn't James Dolan the most hated owner (since Donald Sterling) in the NBA today?

BTW good comment that KD will be jealous  .

This is the funny part. They act like they weren't 100% sure that they were getting both KD and Kyrie until July came around and everything blew up in their faces. Then all of a sudden dudes do a complete 360 talking about "we never wanted them anyway".

These are the same dudes who got triggered when I had that avatar with Kevin Durant in a Knicks jersey and reported me    !! funny af

Funnier part is that we knew with as much certainty as we could Kyrie was coming well before July 1, and many of assumed KD. Netsdaily was a hot bed of insider scoops including one dude who was 100% right for several weeks leading up that Kyrie was a lock and KD probable, since you never know with him. His narrative fit what happened 100% and he was even banned multiple times, until the mod at ND unbanned him since he was hearing the same.

Tides have turned. The city will probably always be a Knicks town when it come to fan support/#'s but the clear #1 team in town when it comes to free agency and respect from top to bottom is Brooklyn. That sounds so much grander than it is, but it's only because the other team in NY is the Knicks. But in a market like NY that is huge. Clippers and Lakers are pretty much on even ground when it comes to free agency, but I think this year proved the Nets have the edge in NY pretty clearly.

I made the switch around 2000 from Knicks to Nets and oddly enough I jumped ship at the right time as the team has been toxic from ownership to the court ever since. How they treated Ewing was the beginning of the end for me, and how Dolan treated another Knick legend Oakley I think influenced players and those around the league recently. There is no respect for their players. Ask Melo, Ewing, Oakley, KP, etc. I didn't need a free Kidd jersey to switch, but I would have taken one gladly. Just saying, Knick fans. You'd still be repping a NY team, with players you wished you had in June, a better team on the court, better coaching staff and performance team and perhaps most importantly better ownership, even though Tsai is new he has to better than Dolan and already owns multiple sports teams.

spoken like someone who has never even been to new york. just lol

i like watching the nets and i prefer going to barclays over msg for games but this will never be a nets town. and that building doesnt sell out. ever.

Grew up there for 25 years. No common sense New Yorker would ever think it'll become the Nets city. That's like saying people will think of NY when the word 'Mets' is uttered.
I don't ever see that happening unless they become co-tenants at MSG (which we know won't ever happen). Knicks will always be the hot ticket simply because they have tourists going to every game. It's convenient. People visit the city, check out the Empire State building, a museum, a broadway show, and a Knicks game, since it's all right there.

I am not sure what's so hard to believe with what I said though. The Knicks are a long ways away from being contenders after dealing their brightest star (KP) and striking out in Free Agency. Kanter said it best. Players like to play there, but the owner is what scares them.
Brooklyn has a good culture and young players who compliment stars well. The Nets aren't as sexy as the Knicks/MSG, but they are still in NY and will compete for a title in the next 3-5 years while the Knicks will continue to try to sell players on other things.

Everything about this nets team is as professional and top rate as it gets for a pro basketball organization. From a leadership, talent development, and culture standpoint, one of the best in the nba imo. Not a dig at the knicks, but they could learn a lot from the nets.

Yes New York will probably always be a Knicks town the atmosphere at the Garden is electric. It's all about entertainment going to MSG doesn't really matter if they win or loose it's all about the experience. It's a double edged sword though putting a winning product on the floor doesn't matter to them just putting on a show I don't see that changing.

Enes Kanter on the Knicks
“I had no problem with my teammates. I was so cool with my teammates,” Kanter said. “I had a conversation with them. But I am a basketball player going out there to compete, I am going to try to win no matter what. That is just in my blood… And if someone — I’m not telling you the Knicks told me to do this — but if somebody is telling me the opposite, I’m not going to listen. My job is to go out there and play as hard as I can. Because the fans are paying so much money to come and see the game. Especially the Garden. My problem I guess that I wanted to win. Something that didn’t make sense is they told me I’m too old to play, and I was 26, and I was like, that doesn’t make sense. Then they bring in a guy four or five years older than me and they start playing him, I’m like, this doesn’t make sense. We had some stuff going on with the Knicks but I wish them the best.”

A decent player wants to compete and you tell him to sit we're tanking. That's being content with a losing culture.
