Messi is fine but he can't tackle like N'Golo :D

And to see Paul Pogba's name in the top 10 makes me cringe.

Most of these top player lists are simply "attackers" lists. Rarely do they even try to look at defensive skills, reading of the game, goalkeeping ....

I respect Chiellini & what he's done. But, VD has been absolute class.

Indeed Chiellini has been top 5 CB ten years in a row maybe but Virgil is now obviously the best CB in the world.

Hazard is way too overrated in your list I think.

No Kanté

Clearly the best player in the world over the last 3 years.

Dunno about the best, but I'd consider him a strong top 5 candidate

Here is EA Fifa's top 15:

9. Modric
10. Ter Stergen (lol)
11. MBappe
12. Ramos (lol)
13. Chiellini
14. Lewandowski (too high)
15. Kane

Like others, I would have Kante, Griezmann, Mane and Sterling on my list. Let me try:

Damn Ronaldo dropped like a rock. Has his playmaking dropped that much? I'd say his scoring remains at a similar level to his last rm years, he's just playing in a more defensive league

The way Lewandowski is currently playing he is too low, not too high.

Guy has 15 goals in 11 games. That's prime Messi-like numbers.

No idea why people always post goals without also posting effiency. Messi is the vastly more effecient scorer.

Not to mention a vastly better playmaker...

Did I rank him above Messi? No. I just said the numbers look like Messi.
In fact, he has the best goalscoring record of all top leagues.

For the moment, its ridiculous you have a guy like Hazard who hasnt even been in game shape so far this season over him in your top 15.

Wasn't my list. Just not sure what's the point of drawing a messi comparison here.

My bad, was on the phone.

I was just saying if you look at the numbers those are Messi-numbers in terms of goals scored.
Not in any way a comparison to Messi. Just an indication Lewandowski is underrated at 14 rather than overrated because nobody ahead of him except for Messi produces those numbers. Now obviously, he is not a top 5 player - but should be in range 6-10 right now.

1. Messi
2. Virgil
3. Mané
4. KDB
5. Lewandowski
6. Mbappe
7. Ronado
8. Trent
9. Alisson
10. Neymar
11. Salah
12. Kante
13. Oblak
14. Sterling
15. Benzema

Ramos, Casemiro, Son, Bobby, Brozovic, de Vrij, Sancho, Fabinho, Pjanic, B. Silva, Kane, Skriniar, Koulibaly, Agüero, Immobile, Frenkie dJ, Suarez, Gini, Robbo, Coutinho, Bonucci, Ederson even Hazard based on his Chelsea days, still new days in Madrid struggling with injuries. Lots of players could make a push for a place in the top-15.

Hell yeah - i should've included Vardy as honorable mention for the top-15.

Choudhury would've been top-5 if it camw down to injuring the other teams players.

Is this biased top or fan favorite?

I know you are not serious thinking Vardy is the best in the world but im seriously curious the level Maddison will reach in his peak or if he is just another English midfielder who wont ever get close to elite, top level in the world. Looks he lacks the technique, offensive skill to be brit version of Coutinho. Not saying he isnt good for LFC level but all these young brit midfielders get overhyped.

Sterling is the one today who reached World class level usually they are overrated like Dele Alli. Gerrard and co was rare breeds.

Sweden?

I don't see Maddison reach the level of Gerrard, Lampard or Scholes. But less can do it. Potential to be a great player.

Hi yes im from Sweden, PL is like the biggest league here . Im AS Roma fan but Serie A has never been as interesting as PL to me.

The English sports media always overhype brit/english players in PL to be the new Gerrard,Scholes, Giggs, Lampard etc It feels like arrogance and belittling those legends who reached World level.

Nothing wrong with being very good without being world beaters. Somtimes PL is like the NBA but if 90% of American players was not nearly as great as the international players.....

Yea, same in Denmark. La Liga and Serie A is nothing compared to the Prem - like 1/10 of the coverage.

I think it's more hope than arrogance. England won nothing with Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes, Beckham, Owen, Rooney, Ferdinand, Terry, Cole, Neville, Campbell and Carragher.

I think that's really the point. Gerrard, Lampard Scholes were not as good as made out to be. They were good English footballers in a time when English footballers were just average european players.

The beauty of the PL is the mix of players and the style and pace of play.

Over the last few years it's the Belgians who have looked like the best creators in European football , particularly those in the PL, and probably the French who have looked the best overall players. Maddison has looked good and the hope is that he can become great but very few do.
