C'mon man, if that happens everybody needs to go starting with mills.

The honeymoon phase is over for perry/mills.

Do you really expect us to be a 17 win team? Rebuilds take time. You can't keep changing GMs every 2 years.

Mill's has been here for a decade plus. We've never had a winning season since he's been.

The people he put in place need to start showing results. Im not talking about 50 wins plus and a playoff run. I'm talking about development of our core young guys and an identity being formed.

If we see none of that this year heads need to roll.

We had a 54 win season while Mills was here. Whatever. PERRY just began this rebuild. He has had 2 drafts so far. He has done more than enough already to warrant patience. Fizdale...that's a different story. He does have to prove he's a capable HC sooner than later. Still...he's not really on the hot seat...unless he's really bad. That is TBD.

You can't keep rolling over GMs and HCs and expect anything to work out. We've been doing that for 18 years! This requires patience. Thinking this roster is the end of the road for anyone is just silly. I'm sure we will be better than last year but...even that remains to be seen. Then we can talk about who may need to go.

Mills had exactly zero to do with the 54 win team since he wasn't with the team at the time. He came back in 2013 after being gone from 2009.

In fact, when Mills returned in 2013 he made exactly one move I can remember - signing Cole Aldrich. He literally did nothing else until Phil was hired and he was 'demoted' to GM.

Realistically speaking this year is another throw away.

You give Perry another draft.

However, in 2020-21, if everything remains about the same and our picks aren't looking too good then, yes, we should move in a different direction. 3 drafts and 4 full seasons are enough to judge a President, GM and coach.

If I had to take a guess Fiz gets another pass this year, eventually having a Mark Jackson type tenure with us, then a new coach when the talent is ready.

Well, the lack of Mudiay is obviously a step in the right direction and Knox may not start but (likely) starting a rookie won't help. Payton, or obviously Frank, would improve that statistic. The latter is not likely.

I'm hoping RJ at least looks like he's sentient about where to go.

Today we will have player and FO/HC quotes to discuss!!! Then we'll have grainy camp videos to disect!! Then it's game time bytches!!! I've been enjoying the last 2 seasons. Not as much as I would have liked with the curious lineup and rotation decisions made by 2 different HCs. Losing KP still bothers me but...whatever. It's time to see what we do have. It all starts later today!! Let the board come back to life!!! Let's go Knicks!

If the Knicks don't win 40+ games this season, I'll eat a shoe.

Yeah i lean that way but i could see a scenario where if the Knicks win sub 25 games and it's not due to injury that Perry tries to buy himself some more time by firing Fiz and essentially scapegoating him. But yeah still think it's likely that Perry and Fiz are a package deal and that 2 years is too quick to have the hook on the whole thing especially with how young the roster is outside of a few vets.

We'll win over 50 if we sign Melo.

Expect defiance.
They’ll make it clear they didn’t back door into this roster but likely concede they had other plans.
But I expect Fiz to sell this all masterfully.

Not happening geo. Bottom 5 in defense and offense. No team identity. Faux accountability. Snake oil fiZ got me hot. I was shocked to what he really was last year because I was happy we got him.

Defensive awareness is also not Randle's strength, but Payton was pretty good about being vocal on defense and putting people in the right position last year. That might be a reason why Payton gets the nod to start over Smith.

Payton is the worst defensive PG on the team. He’s probably carried this misplaced reputation as a defender, because he’s offensively inept. If that’s what folks are expecting, they’re in for a surprise.
