Ad refuses to commit to the Lakers again on media day

He and his team aren't stupid.

He just saw what happened to Kyrie with him declaring his intention to resign, and him ultimiately doing a 180. He has no reason to commit without having some sort of base to go by with how the season transpires.

My point is that REALISTICALLY speaking, none of the actual teams who have cap room to max Davis next offseason are better options or closer to contention. Did anybody see Kwahi and PG teaming up with the Clippers? Cap space is dynamic. AD can team up with another star player someplace. I'm not seeing him playing more than one season with this version of Lebron. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see AD traded by the deadline.

Yep, even if they lose every single game, they are not trading AD, especially after all that they gave up to acquire him. The Lakers organisation would get racked through the coal by the media and fans.

They about to strong arm with 1+1 deals with lakers like Bron did on Cleveland. Both have had the lovely experience of completely pissing off David Griffin already lol due to behaving like this. It wont be an enjoyable job to be the current or future GM of lakers, with howKlutch alpha superstar players worn themselves into every fabric of the management and controll it.

I don't understand people pressuring these guys to make huge life decisions a year ahead of when he needs to. Why should he commit to anything yet? That's right, he shouldn't.

An aging Lebron is a better player than Beal for the next few years. And he can team up with Giannis just fine--on the Lakers, in 2021.

AD is correct in not commiting to re-signing with the Lakers (as opposed to foolishly saying he will commit to a team 9 months before FA and then sign with another team).

That being said it is highly unlikely he leaves the Lakers.

AD and his agent went through hell and high water to force an early exit to LeBron and the Lakers, this was no doubt their ultimate goal.

AD is not gonna leave LeBron, the Lakers, sunshine, warm weather and beaches.

He is just saying the correct things....until he re-ups with the Lakers next summer.

There's no real reason for him to box himself in a corner. There are not a ton of tangible benefits for him to commit publicly like that.

Taking into account that he is close to Lebron I wouldn't surprised if they both are using this tactic to be the ones who make the decisions in the Lakers.

To be fair, Kawhi never wanted to go to Toronto or asked to go there.

There were many reports that AD preferred to go to the Lakers.

“The weather is amazing. The city fits me,” Davis told The Times in his first interview since being traded. “It’s more slow motion, and that’s kind of how I am. … I live out here in the summers. L.A. is one of my favorite cities. I love to live here”

I'm not saying he won't leave but it's way different from the Kawhi situation. Kawhi always said he wanted to go to LA. Not Toronto.

It was GB's worst nightmare when AD forced himself to the Lakers. He hasn't even played a single game yet and GB is already trying to get him off the team.

He just bought a house in Woodland Hills last summer for $7.5 million. He's 26 years old and will be the face of the Lakers for the next 10 years, or until the next superstar forces his way there.

AD isn't going anywhere.
