This dude is not even on my mind anymore. We have DSJ, picks and held onto flexibility. I rather that than a bum who didnt want to be here coming off ACL. Move on.

Other than Mavs fans overhyping him as opposed to our fans, no real difference. Right now he's still potential but we'll see if he can be the monster he's always promised to be under a new coach and with a new pg.

I'm still salty about how he went from being our young franchise player to him and his brother turning on the organization.

It's main purpose is to hopefully become and magnet for, and contain, the KP jackfests that are certain to happen first time Randle has a bad game or KP has a good one, etc.

It can be the home for all that.

Of course, it probably won't be. And you, me and everyone else will have to read Porzingis posts in game threads, around the NBA threads, all over.

But at least I tried.

I will only care about one stat with KP.

GP.

If he plays 70 plus games and stays healthy and plays at an All-Star level the next 5-6 years, it will hurt. But I predict he will continue to be an injury prone player who won't play in the league past 30. We'll see.

If he was all in, we could have signed another star to pair with him. Maybe Jimmy Butler, Kemba, or DLo.

Glad he's not on the roster. Randle and Mitch will take care of the middle. They're actually tough. We need a good shooter at SG though.

KP looks shredded and will probably do really well on the court. However, the fact that he's 7'3 still remains. I don't have the stats, but I would guess 90% of 7'3+ guys that played in the NBA had injury riddled careers. And most of them weren't moving like KP does, which only aggravates the issue. Best of luck to KP and Doncic though, I think they can be a special duo barring injuries.

He left because Perry never offered a contract extension
Probably also wanted him to take a discount.

Of course he wasn't going to play last year without a new deal. Nobody in their right mind would take a chance at injury, to play the final year of a rookie deal. I said all year he wouldn't play, and of course he didn't.

Literally 5 minutes after free agency started he signed his extension with the Mavs.

It always has been and always will be about the money.

I doubt he's chiseled in the ways he needs to be. Tanned, yeah I buy that.

He'll have a nice complexion as he plays losing volleyball with all those offensive boards he can touch but not corral.

He didn't leave. He got traded. So that's that.

I think this is correct vis a vis why he demanded a trade.

I also don't want to talk about it that much.

Some non-comedy attempt points:

1. KP would almost certainly have signed with us too for a Max.

2. But didn't want to be here and/or thinks he can be bigger than the team. So no matter how good he is, that's trouble.

3. His game is not yet that good. His D must be really good, the numbers say it is, but I think Mitch can be even more impactful. His O is lacking to me. There's a gap between his height and his hype and the actual output he's capable of. I have real concerns that his J will ever be great. Seems more like average.

4. His injury is still a big one. He moves extremely well for such a tall guy but I think being a little shorter, a little more skilled and a little beefier/heartier would be a better tradeoff.

5. He may be more of a white knight circus act and a name than a really good basketball player on the court.

6. His lack of boarding and passing are notable and don't seem like they're likely to change much. As mentioned in my comedy attempt above, his offensive rebounding sucks.

7. All of this said, I like him next to Doncic  Should work pretty well, as long as his J gets up to very good and he can do something else like cut to the basket and score. That takes strength. But even locking down on D and scoring some will look good next to Luka.
