Nuggets Could Give Center Minutes To Jerami Grant

While Jerami Grant will primarily be Paul Millsap's backup at power forward, the Denver Nuggets could use him at center.

“I think Jerami Grant can play (center),” Malone said from Nuggets training camp. “Jerami’s ability to screen and roll, finish around the basket, catch passes in traffic and make plays from that, he’s really, really good in that regard. I think you can play him at (power forward), you can play him at (center). Same thing with Paul.”

The presence of Grant at center could minimize the minutes of Mason Plumlee. Denver also wants to find minutes for Michael Porter Jr.

“He’s good,” Jokic said. “Sometimes he surprises me with how athletic he is.”

He can play some backup centre, for sure, depending who he's next to.
Starting at C is harder, since you have to deal with all comers, but as a backup it's easier to make him playing C more matchup contingent.
Pairing him with Millsap alongside bench perimeter guys would work in plenty of instances.
