Yes but his talk and his promotion were always more than his actual performance. This is consistent.

what you're saying is not really even true though. they could have paid kp and got randle, there was money for both. you're twisting the truth a bit it sounds better than saying we used the money on taj gibson & bobby portis.

They weren't signing Randle with KP and Mitch here. Losing KP left a void at that starting spot. Randle was the main target and its pretty obvious that he was brought in to replace KP

they weren't gonna have all 3 but you can't say we got the cap space for randle as part of the trade. the cap space already existed.

But who they got in free agency depended on the KP trade. Not just that but our draft as well. With KP and THJ who knows what the strategy would have been on draft night. All we know is what we do have and how we got here

100%. if the knicks guard play is good, this team will flirt with .500 and/or a playoff spot. DSJ has a great opportunity to take command and cement himself as a true lead guard with star potential. RJ may surprise and show star mettle. payton and frank should add sold depth if nothing else. we even signed a couple of guys solely for long-range shot making.

fiz needs to maximize it. if he does, .500 and playoffs shouldn't be out of the question.

more than any of that, i just want to see the players we plan to move forward with get better.

This is 100% my mindset. I'd rather win 28 games and see our young guys taking steps forward that show real growth into competitors than win 35 games and see the youth stagnant while the vets on options carry us just shy of postseason experience. I understand heads that are more focused on fixing our image and picking up wins to build some momentum but for me the win total is secondary to the context of how we win/lose games.

man, i had bobby portis all wrong. he seems like he will provide some great leadership and perspective too. loved how he handled all of those questions. loved his outward focus. loved sharing and giving credit.

makes me wonder what the hell happened with that mirotic fight.

Did Fiz say anything about DSJ? I’m like a fiend for anything about him. Lol. Can’t watch at work. And yeah, some footage would be nice.

i'm rooting for trier to just be an adequate defensive player, he's the perfect scoring punch off the bench type player.

Lol that was the only interesting part. Basically Fiz praised DSJR ability to break down the defense which he believes will create a lot of open 3s

He also said Randle is shooting the 3 pretty consistent

Mirotic always seemed a little bit like a punk and let's be honest dude has a pretty punchable face...

JK doesn't excuse Portis for knocking him out. You can't do that in any workplace.

i'm no coach but here is how the team should be categorized

off the ball catch and shoot:
knox
morris
ellington
dotson
*****hopefully frank*****

run point:
dsj
frank
payton

create for themselves/other:s
dsj
randle
rj
iggy
trier

those that cut to the basket with force:
knox
dsj
rj? haven't seen enough
mitch
trier

pick and pop:
portis
randle
morris
knox
gibson

put the best lineup with the best combination of players

if dsj, randle, and rj are in the lineup together then you need a neutral catch and shoot player to balance it out whether it's morris or knox at the 3 or dotson, ellington, or frank at the 2 movng rj to the 3 spot. if robinson can hit the three at a 30-32% clip, that changes the spacing of this team.

You can't tell me sending Indiana to India wasn't an attempt at scheduling humor.
