Awesome card. I have high hopes for Gillespie, although he seems to be one of those fighters who fights ever 8-9 months and disappears in between. I just hate that lol.

Lee has faced nothing but killers but this would be 4 losses in 5 fights. And dude's like 27 prolly. Even Pettis wins 2 outta 5. Amirite

UFC is really killing it with the end of the year fights. October may not have the massive card like 244 or 245. But damn we get some damn good fights this month, starting this weekend.

I can't wait to see the Kron vs Cub fight.

This week's card is looking skimpy outside of the main event to me. Being able to secure Holloway/Volkanovski would have been HUGE for this card.

I'm hyped on the main event. Hooker and Al should be a lot fun as well. But ya either then that, not a great card.

Hooker and Al has everything you want in a PPV main card opener. I LOLed when I saw it was the co-main.

UFC 243 has no depth but Israel-Whittaker could be the fight of the year, if the middleweight fights so far this year are any indication.

Israel vs Whittaker is one of my most anticipated fights of the year. The rest of the card does look like a fight night, but it should be a solid card and the Hooker/Al fight should be a barn burner, Hooker hasn't been to a decision in 3 years.

I knew Bisping had a messed up eye, but I didnt know he actually lost his eye. The dude literally plopped his eye out on his podcast.

Anyone want a happy (enough) story from the early days of MMA? Look at how happy and well-adjusted Ken Shamrock sounds. He used to just be a steaming pile of malice. At one point here, he talks about how he avoids confrontations that might lead to fights.

Also, I sent him my biceps protocol a couple years ago. Glad to see he's following. PM for a PDF.

That was insane!

He had been secretly fighting with one eye. Unreal.

There may not be a bigger scumbag in MMA, which is obviously saying a lot.

What is the full list of fighters this twerp has gone after? Colby, Pettis, Tony, Jimmie Rivera off the VERY TOP of my head. I wish one of those guys would catch him without his goons at some point.

Ali will likely never get more than a slap on the wrist legally, and socially he won't suffer much either. He has powerful friends who he does illicit things for. They repay him with money, status, and lack of accountability. And even if his goons weren't there at the time anybody he assaults knows they'd get it eventually if they effed him up in response. That's why he's so brazen.

Like with Bones, I sniffed this guy out as a snake from the very beginning. Call me Mystic Bern. I predict these things!

The guy I despise the most in this sport. Hated finding out this was Frankie Edgar's manager. I always lose a ton of respect for a fighter if I find out this dude is their manager. I hope just one day some fighter just beats the crap out of this dude.

Yeah the guy is a scumbag. The complete opposite of what I want to see in a manager. But for some reasons he has an extensive client list, a few very high profile clients and they all seem to talk him up. I hate Colby as much as the next Colby hater but that stunt that Usman and Ali pulled at the buffet was absolute classless. Ali is suppose to be a manager and keep his clients from making mistakes but Ali is the one that almost needs to be held back by his client from escalating the situation.

Easily the most hated person in the sport

He and Usman assaulted fans at a WSOF in the past too. So this isn't the first time Ali has been in the crowd at PFL/WSOF events assaulting people. Pretty sure he has at least something to do with the promotion too, or at least he used to be their matchmaker. I know publicly they cut ties due to the obvious conflict of interest with Ali managing fighters and matchmaking, but I wouldn't be floored if he still had something to do with it. He's at all the events, and he gets away with literally assaulting their fans in the crowd and they seem to be okay with it.

Dear Mystic Bern,

Please assess Poirer's reign as LW champ. How does he compare with all the other Lightweight champions of lore?

How soon til he regains the title (that he definitely deserved)?

Will his being a sweet boy, nice to his mom, handsome, and hardworking be enough to beat Khabib in the rematch?

Yours,

Knave CBR
