But it surely helped that the Dubs were without Looney and Cauley-Stein to counter AD and Javale. And no Klay, or KD, Iggy, Livingston, etc. So It's not like beating them is a major feat at the moment and something to brag about on the internet imo.

I don't care too much for the tweet but it's sports and trash talking is part of the deal. Just as long as they don't mind people digging the tweet up later in the year if/when things start going badly.

You can clearly see the potential in last nights game, I think that was the real message.

The Lakers don't scare no one. Even if they got the best player in the world, teams will scheme to render him impotent. Operative word: team

Warriors might have a losing record with the lineup the Lakers played. WCS and Looney are required size for the Warriors to be able to compete. Nice showing by the Lakers, but it's a lot easier without the Warriors bigs playing for AD to dominate... and of course no Klay.

There's no shame in getting injured out of the finals.

Sure there is when you injure your own players for playing them injured

They beat Curry, Dray, and Steve Kerr.

They beat a 73 win team

Can we still use that?

I feel like Lebron fans are always a day late and a dollar short. Lol.

If your main concern is the Warriors, then last season didn't teach you ANYTHING. This ain't 2016-2018. The Lakers BETTER finish with a better record than the Warriors

There are no more excuses. The Big Bad Wolf, KD, is now in Brooklyn and injured. Klay is out injured.
"Finals MVP" (lol) Iggy may not even play professionally next year.

The West is now "wide open" with about 10 teams that beat each other by 20 points on any given night.
Welcome to the Western Conference, ladies.

A very sophisticated retort

yes its premature but its part of proffesional sports especially in the social media time we live in now. Westbrook told the league to be scared of him and harden when they havent even played yet.

It’s the Lakers. What do you expect.

I’m sure the warriors were really amped up about preseason game 1.

Some intern is currently laughing his ass off that a bunch of grown men are upset about this tweet he probably made from a bar in Santa Monica.

I loved how the Lakers were meshing, but tbh euroleague teams would have beat that dubs team with zero interior presence.

That said, ADs seemed like he knows how to exploit the attention Javale and Bron were getting near the rim. His positioning and floor awareness were impressive
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

I find it kind of cringey tbh. I've always preferred flying under the radar. I realize that's impossible with Lebron and AD on your team but just let their play do the talking.

I just see it as the team having some fun and there's nothing wrong at all about that. People are too damn serious these days about nonsense things that don't matter.
