Just wow.

This goof appeared on TSN within an hour of Bianca's win alongside a bonafide tennis coach (don't remember his name) who coached someone to a women's grand slam finals, and Simmons rudely interrupts the coach all in order to spew something about "no fear" "big stage" "heart of a champion"... it was so disappointing for so many reasons,,, first I had to hear Simmons but also because I legitimately wanted to hear this coach, who they obviously worked hard to find and get on their show, finish his fricking point.

What ever happened to Logan Warmoth? He's not even ranked in the Jays top 30 prospects.

Warmoth has been awful. No power, strikes out a tonne, and apparently his defense isn't anything worth celebrating, either. He's more likely to be released in the offseason than he is to make the majors in any capacity.

I don't remember anyone liking the pick at the time.

There weren't a lot of people that liked the Groshans pick, either. And there was a lot of rationalizing the pick by adding Kloffenstein into the equation. Nobody in baseball comes close to hitting with all their picks. It's just not possible. If anyone was going to fail, I'm okay with it being Warmoth. Pearson was taken 6 picks after him and seems to be doing alright despite a lot of hand-wringing at the time about picking a pitcher with a screw in his arm.

Blue Jays minor league righty Luis Quinones received an 80-game suspension after testing positive for the performance-enhancing drugs Nandrolone, John Lott of The Athleticreports. The ban will take effect at the beginning of the 2020 season. The 21-year-old Quinones was a 34th-round pick of the Jays this past June who produced stellar results in 36 2/3 innings between the rookie and low-A levels. He wrapped up his first professional season with a 2.95 ERA and 14.0 K/9 and 4.7 BB/9.

Well those results were too good to be true.

Few teams have graduated more talent in the past year than the Toronto Blue Jays -- gone from these kinds of lists are Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio. Still, the Jays have a few intriguing prospects and some youngsters who you should keep in mind over the coming years.

1. Nate Pearson, RHP
2. Jordan Groshans, SS
3. Alek Manoah, RHP
4. Simeon Woods-Richardson, RHP
5. Eric Pardinho, RHP

2020 contributor: Anthony Kay, LHP

Analyst's pick: Curtis Taylor, RHP

Riser: Miguel Hiraldo, 2B

Faller: Kevin Smith, INF

One to watch: Orelvis Martinez, SS

Two tiny Arizona Fall League news items. Julian Merryweather is supposedly going to pitch for Scottsdale in the coming days, and relief pitcher Jackson Rees is the only Blue Jays all-star. Rees has lowered his three league season long ERA to 0.68. His combination of a killer slider, effective sinker ought to get him to New Hampshire to start next season

Kevin Smith is really struggling in the AFL. He is striking out in 60% of his ABs.
