Knox didn't shoot over 40% as a rookie. Would you have considered that "hate" too?

Got any links to preseason threads from last year with people speculating what Knox would shoot for the season?

Looking at the main board the only rookies that exist are Zion and RJ

RJ's has a way bigger profile than Knox. RJ was a top 3 pick and the guess who has the biggest fan base out of the top 3 picks. That's why he's mentioned more than other rookies.

I don't know about hate per se but the OP needs to get their eyes checked.

TGW wrote:After seeing his shot selection in SL/preseason, I'm suspecting that he shoots in the mid-to-upper 30%-range. He takes too many of the dreaded mid-range contested shots.

Hopefully the Knicks sway him from shooting those shots.

Took exactly one shot that wasn't in the paint or a 3-ball.

I haven't seen a single JA Morant thread and he's the 2 pick, we all know making a Knick thread is the equivalent of Disney putting out a Marvel film though, it's always going to do well at the box office.

Compare the grizzlies fanbase with that of the Knicks. Ofcourse there's more conversation about Barrett.

Knick fans aren't making Barrett threads in here, that's the point.

"The GB" can't hate everyone. What generally happens is a natural reaction to the number of users of those teams who feed conversations and/or clickbait stories that each team generates and lead to friction.

Barrett is a much more high profile prospect despite going #3 after playing for an extremely hyped up Duke team while Morant was playing for Murray St. Plenty of people have barely seen Morant play or not even seen him at all.

Reminds me of a slightly lesser athletic version of DeRozen. DeRozen never improved his range and if Barrett doesn't he'll likely take a similar path with less highlight dunks. If he can improve his shot it will go a long way. Seems like a hard worker so we'll see.

It depends on whether they have him shoulder a substantial offensive load from day 1. If yes, I think he's under the threshold. If they don't I'd put him at around 43.

I’ll guess he starts off slow ~ 35% then brings it to 42% towards the end of the season.

Of these they do hate:
Clipsfan98
Rockets
Raptors
Knicks

Those are totally accurate. Sixers? Only Ben Simmons gets hate. Boston? If anything GB overrates them.

The Warriors and Lakers are hated universally not just on the GB. Comes with success.

He's never seen RJ play he just heard he was a chucker and inefficient and assumed he shot long 2s (when in reality he takes too many contested layups and 3s). Foot in mouth.

I think between 38-42%, not because he is bad but because he is a non-generational rookie talent who is being handed #1 option usage on a low talent team. Only a few guys could come out and be efficient as the basically teenage #1 offensive option on a team like NYK.

The fact that he seems confident to carry the load means more than his FG%.

Probably this because unless the knicks are tanking hard, they’re not going to let him chuck away at 35%—38% No way.
