Because why keep the bridge to the Knixs intact ?

Remember they didnt want KD so should he care about them

It's professional basketball. One moment you're on one team the next another. Who would have thought Rondo, Dwight Howard, Isaiah Thomas and Derrick Rose would become teammates with LeBron? Someday in the future the Knicks might be a tempting destination for KD. It's unwise for him to speak derogatorily about any possible future employer.

Agreed, the league is so "it's who you know" that you are really doing yourself a disservice by saying anything negative toward anyone. The exec's move around and have ties with other execs and former players that move into the front office. It's like the Six Degrees of Phil Jackson.

well, actually he didn't say "the knicks were not cool". what he said was the knicks are not as cool as say gsw, " or even the lakers",,,and he threw in the nets as a side because probably they're on his mind.

BUT THE LAST THING HE SAID was "the cool thing right now is not the knicks".

funny but i hear the media totally screwing up this very specific distinction.

The Nets? 45-48 wins. The team is a lot better than last year's squad even without Durant, with depth at every position.

well you're going to be a little disappointed because your team isn't better than last year(without durant)

They added Taurean Prince he's a 14 point per game scorer that's a 38 percent 3 point shooter.

David Nwaba and Garret Temple are good defenders.

Dandre Jordan is a better lob and pick and roll player than they had.

They upgraded at every position the NETS are stacked.

blueNorange wrote:durant can say "the front office the past few years has made it unappealing, and the nets have a good young core"

that's 100% accurate.

durant saying the reason why is because the nets are more cool and because the younger generation don't remember the knicks being good is total bs because the nets were also just as bad in the same time frame.

Not entirely true. Knicks last good run was between 1988 to 2000, Ewing's last season with the team. All other Knicks teams, even the ones that made the playoffs, were pretty irrelevant.

The last good Nets run happened almost right after the Knicks lost relevancy. It peaked with those back to back NBA finals appearances and lasted until 2007 before Kidd left the team in the 2007-2008 season.

The Jason Kidd Nets existed after the Patrick Ewing Knicks. Somebody who is 19-25 today will remember the Nets being somewhat relevant from their childhood, while the Knicks during that time were plagued with the likes of Starbury, Eddie Curry, Larry Brown, Isaiah Thomas and James Dolan.

The one good Knicks season in 2013 and Linsanity had about as much impact on the NBA landscape as the KG-Pierce Nets. So no advantage for the Knicks there.

The Nets literally have Kyrie Irving because of the Jason Kidd Nets being his favorite team growing up.

it became cool to be a net last february, but they went ahead and traded the guy that carried them to the playoffs.

in summary, durant is butthurt and has a fragile mind. new york media/social media will eat him alive.

LOL sorry but you sound a lot more butthurt than Durant might be. You really shouldn't get defensive like that. I mean what about the other dozens of stars that turned the Knicks down in the past 20 years? Basically every single decent player other than Amare and Melo avoided the Knicks like plague. But keep your head in the sand and calls the others names, I'm sure that'll help.

I love that you fired back and I always enjoy a little **** talk, but cmon brah...try winning something with your new squad before you try and flex on a team that just went to 5 straight finals because they sucked in the 1st quarter of a preseason game
