What team is going to overtake them? Maybe if Cease takes a huge step forward and Robert rakes when he gets called up the White Sox but that seems unlikely, otherwise they're at worst 2nd.

I still can't believe Cleveland went into the season. I mean honest to God, Jake Bauers, Leonys Martin and Tyler Naquin as your starting outfield.

Cleveland [incorrectly] assumed that they'd be ahead by 10 games and could just grab an outfielder at the deadline. It was a cheap ownership thing that they thought wouldn't be a huge deal but the other 2 relatively competitive teams in their division also have cheap ownership so they are in good company.

If healthy, give me Cleveland any day of the week unless the Twins drastically improve their pitching.

And while the Twins are pretty good and I know that the White Sox cheaped out trying to spend last year, I think they now add some pitching as their window is opening.

Kluber, Clevenger, the Biebs, Carrasco if he's healthy enough plus likely a superior bullpen...give me that team.

Should the Cards even pitch Flaherty in this one?

This will be extra painful for them when the Braves win it.

Roberts had absolutely no clue what the **** to do after Kershaw gave up the lead.

I don't know what his options were, but my experience from late night twitter this summer tells me joe kelly was not the play (commonly trended after a bad outing, which was common)

To be fair to Roberts, after the month of May, Kelly was absolutely dominant. He obviously has the stuff and must have made some adjustments.

But I might've tried something else once he got into some trouble.

I feel for Kershaw...generally I will argue against any "lol, playoff _____" thing because it usually rests on a small sample but you can't ignore it now...but he is a decent enough guy that wants to win, it just isn't working.

An Angelino in my fantasy football league texted me, "VIVA LOS DOYERS" to gloat when they were up 3 in the 5th. Called him out for being a jinx. I am very amused.

Hate that the Brewers lost, but if the Nats take out both the Dodgers and the Cardinals this year I will always hold a special place in my heart for them.
