Preseason Game 3: Jazz @ Pelicans on 10/11

The Pelicans are a team I am already a bit worried about playing during the regular season. Hopefully they don't gell too fast! Rudy and four smallish guys, or the Jazz playing with Jeff Green at PF who hasn't been known for his D, could struggle to defend Zion and the Pels. Zion had four assists last night to go along with his 29 points on 13 attempts, including one assist to Favors rolling to the rim.

I would like to see one full go half. Not sure tomorrow is the right time though.

There's only three preseason games left. I'd like to see a full go rotation for the first of the next two games. The last game we can rest everyone and play the Stars players.

I would like to see more ball movement from the starting 5. I'm assuming some of the confusion on offense has come from new and old players adjusting to others and the system.

Also looking for Conley and Bojan to find a bit more rhythm and stop trying to force as much. I think they are both feeling pressure to score but they just need to play their game.

I don't think a lack ball movement was the issue against MIL. If anything, I think we were too rigid and trying to play to close to the book and not being creative enough. Dropping defense counters our PnR action unless individual talent beats it. We would have done better to loosen up and run less sets.

Yeahhh he gets a bit lost sometimes, but can't complain with the gravity he pulls on the perimeter.

I am not watching the game on tv, I would like to know why we got the rebound with 25 seconds left for the end of the game and shot a three pointer with 8 seconds left. Any reason why? Why not use the whole 24 seconds?

It cost us the game.

It cost us the game.

There was a bigger differential than one second, but we probably shot it a little too early anyways. The scrubs were in, so not much you can really expect out of them at the end of a meaningless game.

This pelicans team is going to be really really special in a few years. Zion is going to be a superstar if he stays healthy and NAW reminds me of Brandon Roy with his skillset and how smooth he is. He as well as Ball and Holiday will be a dynamic duo going forward. I also love the scoring punch that Frank Jackson brings as a microwave player off the bench. We were stupid not to demand him in the Favors trade. I guarantee they would have given him up.
