Sharing my Raptors custom framed memorabilia piece

Post#1 » by comlad » Wed Oct 9, 2019 4:25 pm

Hey guys, just wanted to share this custom piece I got made with a help of a few friends to commemorate the Raptors first championship. Collected cards as a kid growing up through to my university years and with the Raptors winning their first ever championship, I really wanted to find a way to commemorate their win and didn't find any team signed framed items available so I decided to make my own. Had to get a friend to help me peel autographed stickers from other official licensed Panini autographed cards and stick them all onto the championship set to keep it looking consistent. Had another friend help me design several layout options then got Frameworth to do the custom framing. Here's how it turned out:

Eventually going to make a second framed set with action cards instead and a different 16x20 photo. Debating between the four designs below, would love to see what everyone's thoughts are on which design I should use for the second frame.

Beauty. How did you manage to take off the sticker autographs from the other cards?

Damn that's pretty cool. If I had that I would try to get a couple players to sign it at all cost.

All the cards has their autographs on them but signed on clear stickers and stuck on the cards. :D It would be near impossible to get them all to sign directly on the piece now especially with Kawhi gone.

My friend, who I was told you also know (Jon) helped on that part of this project :)

100%! I believe they used UV protective glass, but definitely still keeping it away from sunlight just i case.

My mom got me a poster of all the raptors dancers and they all autographed it. It faded so much it's just trash now.

Very nice. I’d say the last layout is best for your next one.

What set is that with the autograph stickers?

Gooood damn! Nice stuff lol!! I bought professionally taken pictures of "The Shot" which was also framed very nicely. I want to go get sports magazines with the Raps in front of them and frame those as well.

Looks great.

I like the layout of the third the best but I find the text from the photo and name plate redundant.

Frameworth charged me $300+ for the frame since they had to do all the custom sizing based on my design. It was pricey, but as a one-time piece I think it was worth it.

And thanks everyone for the kind words and suggestions, I'm leaning towards design #3 as well. :D

Ok. I’ve seen that set at Walmart. So the autograph stickers are from something else or they come with the panini card set?
