How you make such a statement before his first regular season game lol. Not to mention he wasn't asked to pass, he was playing off ball and played good defense, shot well, and rebounded. The assists will come down the road. We have Sato in the starting lineup, and dunn off the bench to carry pg duties for now

Pretty small sample size to make that kind of proclamation, but it (along with lauri looking bad) is the main topic of concern on the bulls board. Best case is probably more Billups than Williams... Coby is crafty.

Almost all his minutes have come at the 2 so far....

His assist ratio so far has been abysmal. Two huge positives for bulls fans is Sato playing good basketball and Lavine looking beastly.

i be trying to tell yall he didnt even come into NC as a true point guard he was always more of a scorer he just happened to get placed in that lead guard role for NC and it worked for them with his fast pace uptempo style. He still has to learn to become a real point guard it wont happen right away though.

I don't think its a slight to say White and Sexton are possibly players cut from a similar cloth.

i can see that. i like cobys potential as a playmaker more though seems more of a willing passer with the right idea

I agree and think Sexton is more willing also; but three to four assist a game is pretty standard shooting guard fare. Both are scorers first and that is where their bread will be buttered. White is on a much more talented team so he will get the hype; but I think they are very similar.

wouldn't look to pigeon hole either into a specific type just yet. Especially considering the situations on both the bulls and cavs. RN i'd say let the talent establish itself at this level and then check for the aptitude for additional skillsets, once you've figured that part out assess the needs of the team and go from there.

Have not paid much attention to Sexton this preseason but based on his rookie season he was a poor defender, while so far Coby has been very impressive defensively. He competes hard, shows good lateral quickness and strength versus quick and strong guards.

Also I'm not worried about his (lack of) assist numbers. Coby won't become a legit point guard over night but for right now he's fine being a scorer off the bench. He's a hard worker and I expect he'll develop as passer but of course nobody should expect him to be dishing out passes like the next CP3, it's simply not his game, and that is okay.

Why is that his ceiling after 5 preseason games? Why Lou Williams (off the bench)? Lou is 6'1 & Coby is 6'5.

He's a different type of player. Why can't his ceiling be more of a Bradley Beal type? Even though Beal didn't become relevant until his 6th season (all-star). Coby was more of a facilitator and scorer than Beal was in college...but they're similar in height and weight.

Thank god Zion avoided being surrounded by the Knicks team that RJ is surrounded with now.

Those Alexander boys can play.

RJ is gonna be really nice. He's playing a complete game out there.

RJ is the building block the Knicks needed.. now hopefully Knox and Mitch can be rounded into form.. that's the core.

I wouldn't put much faith into Knox. RJ and Mitch though, 100%.
