Ibaka is the most underrated player on our team

Post#1 » by NotMyKawhi » Sat Oct 19, 2019 10:29 am

Ppl sleep on just how good Ibaka is....stretches the floor to 3, almost automatic from mid range, protects the paint. He's the perfect big for todays nba

He was huge for us in the playoffs, too. I would have rather signed him than lowry tbh...I know lowry has done more but I think ibaka's future in the NBA is much brighter..

We joke abt his age but he is showing no signs of slowing down

Yeah, I've been thinking this for a while, certainly since Game 7. But even before that, with his "Hungry" series and general demeanour. For better or worse, he's an emotional guy, and speaks emotional truths. On a team where level-headedness seems prized more than anything, I think it's necessary to have someone like Serge.

After this season, he may want more than the one-year contract we were all hoping he would take to bridge Raptors' cap space to 2021. He may want - and deserve - at least a 3x20 deal. Not sure how much we can pay and still have a full max slot for 2021.

He is absolutely a really important player. I still think one of him or Gasol gets traded.

on a side note, I hope I'm wrong but every year there is a guy who shoots incredibly in the preseason and then goes ice cold to start the season and the opposite.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

He is absolutely our rock. He is the tough guy, gritt and talent that we always needed. We looked for in JJ and PT.

Sell high. He’ll be looking for a long term contract and I don’t think that’s something we can offer.

I've been hard on Ibaka. He doesn't have the highest bbiq, but last year's playoffs showed me that he eventually "figures it out" against his opponent in a playoff series...

He is also playing more and more to his strengths, and you can definitely attribute that to playing and getting comfortable in a great system.

He started off very slowly for us in the first year and a half. Last year he was an absolute unit and so clutch in the playoffs.

Looks like he is already in great shape to start the year. Not sure if he stays here or gets traded at the deadline for a team that needs a big man.

Will always respect the mafuzzy chef, avec classe, original man etc

The sign of a great coach. Ability to get the most out of your players. Casey had him at 4 with JV and most of us hated him. Nurse was brave enough to try him out on the bench and at the 5. He has been incredible since

He's probably the most underrated by some. He has his deficiencies but no player is perfect. What he brings in his role, especially if he can regain his shooting touch from 3 (to go along with his ridiculous mid-range shooting last year) would make him even more formidable. He actually performed at times in the playoffs when I expected him to run out of gas by the post-season.

He's potentially going to be a very valuable trade piece at the deadline, depending on our performance to that point.

He stepped up his game the last season and is ready for this season

There were reasonable question marks when he first came here but you cant tell the dude is putting in serious work on his game

Remember when people were mad that we traded T Ross for him?

He does make some boneheaded plays but was a huge X-factor during our championship run and will be an even bigger piece this year.

He had huge flaws before, did too much, stone hands ect... He seems to have fixed a lot of his issues, playing to his strength(becoming a center for one thing), even his handle improved.

I don't think he's underrated, I think he actually got better in the current system and we're all suffering from recency bias.

He legitimately improved his game. You have to give him props for that.

I credit Masai. He seems to instill a killer and winning attitude in players that they didn't hone before. Every player that plays for masai, seem to have a Kobe-like attitude in terms of winning. I dont think Ibaka had that before, he seems to have it now.

I thought he was done after that Cavs series and we were stuck with his horrible contract for 2 years. What a turnaround last year. These days, he's one of my favourite players on the team especially since he seems so much more comfortable now and has all the fun social media stuff going on.

Depends what we’re trying to do, but having him and Gasol are pretty crucial to going up against the Sixers.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Serge will be traded at the deadline.......to......the......
LA Clippers.

Clippers don't have anything to offer in terms of draft picks but perhaps they do have Mifondu Kabengele...27th overall pick in this past draft...C of the future perhaps? He is from Burlington and has an African sounding name...how is he not a Masai Ujiri kind of prospect?
