I thing Toronto basically has to, sort of like how the Cavs "had to" resign Iman, JR and TT to those deals they got. Raps can go over the cap to resign them, but not to sign replacements for them.

you don't extend siakam now. his cap hold in summer 2020 when he's an RFA will be low so we can use cap space on someone else then go over to re-sign him.

fred will be interesting. i don't think he's a full time starter yet and he plays a physical style where he will bound to get hurt - much like lowry. he gets $9 mil now and i think that's really his value when you take into account 82 games. i say you wait until next summer and see what happens.

None of the 2. Siakam's cap hold is too valuable and I think they let Fred walk in 2020. They could really make a nice FA signing in 2020 if Kawhi stays and then extend Siakam.

If they extend now, they could get a discount. Siakam can be signed for 22M while FVV can be negotiated to 15M
If they wait for next year, Siakam value will be maximum and teams will overpay FVV to around 18M.

Plus the tax luxury, the team can save 15M per year.

That is ofcourse depends on what Kawhi will do on July

fvv had a great finals, but he was awful for a significant part of the playoff run...

we've seen this before with the run that normgod had against the indiana pacers and he really struggled the next season.

fvv is terrible against length, something the warriors had the least of against the opponents the raptors played against.

siakam yes, fvv, probably not

Wow, how Toronto missed the opportunity to extend FVV at a lower price

One of the things I find interesting, is how most fans anticipate and accept that Jason Tatum is a worthy MAX contract player, but somehow questioned whether Siakam was a MAX player. I really don't understand how anyone who watches the game, can't see that Siakam is the superior player. It's amazing to me.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I don’t see how they don’t extend FVV they need him. He should try get max range money the raptors if he keeps on playing well to good .

It's because Tatum is 4 years younger. Age does matter long term but you're right in 2019/2020 and probably for a few years after that Pascal is the superior player.

I doubt that opportunity was there after his play in the finals. Fred knows he can be a starting PG in this league i think he bet on himself.

FVV 5 years 100 million dollars. Who says no?

Crazy as it seems, FVV might be the one to turn it down.
