Obviously photoshopped. Clippers should be 6-0... someone told me they're going 82-0?

Two “top five” players you would think the lakers would be 5-0.

Regardless it’s still early in the season and the Mavs showed their youth and inexperience. Lakers are on the soft part of their schedule and this is first road game.

Some of the shots and clean-ups of Brawn's late misses that Davis made in the final minutes should have people shivering a little bit, and not from the cooler weather. Two guys who can make huge plays like that goes a looong way by itself.

Yeah, the Lakers won tonight, but it took an otherworldly effort from the League's best player to get by the lowly Mavs. Keep redlinging his engine like that and it'll konk out before the ASB...

dallas is good, playing at home and motivated against the lakers. I mean just enjoy the last years of Lebron. You are not gonna see someone like him maybe during your entire lifetime.

Lol, at calling the Mavs lowly.

As far as the otherworldly effort by Lebron? I’m thinking he’s got a couple more of those left in the tank. I’m not exactly sweating bullets about him using those type of games up.

I think were just used to teams having 3 stars on the team. Lakers are good enough to win it all if they continue growing but I like the competition this year, you xant just easily pick one team to win it all which is fun as a fan.

A top 5 defense with Lebron and AD is going to be tough to beat in the playoffs. People focus too much on offense.

Because their minds are stuck on the Warriors dynasty teams who had 4-5 elite offensive players all on one team, which isn’t normal.

In any normal year pre or post-GSW , the Lakers roster is easily enough to win a title. They’re going to get Iggy too before the playoffs start

I don’t think that any roster with Davis and Bron on it can be deemed unimpressive.

Just as many expected, they look like legitimate contenders for the title and Bron is far from washed up, it’s just that some people don’t want to hear any of that.

Did this dude just say teams can just game plan LeBron James in the playoffs? Have we been watching the same NBA playoffs for the past dozen seasons?

They have LeBron, AD, Green, and Howard.

Those are the only guys I’m sure are positive impact players come playoff time. And honestly that’s making the assumption Dwight doesn’t revert back to his old ways or break down as the season progresses.

Caruso, Kuzma, and Dudley can join that first group but I need to see more. Kuzma’s a bad defender, rebounder, and shooter, and I don’t really love the way he fits next to LeBron and AD. I like Caruso but it’s still early for him. And Dudley is a solid veteran bench guy but he’s also 34 and not in the best shape so we’ll see.

I don’t see LA holding onto a top 4 spot in the West. They lost against the only real challenge they’ve had so far and they’ve had essentially one road game. The rebounding, perimeter defense, and shooting have all looked bottom third of the league level, so I’m not convinced yet this is some juggernaut because of a 4-1 start.

Howard’s been really impressive defensively. Would be cool to see him win his fourth DPOY.

Lebron looks like he took kinda a big step back for him.
Can he even shoot anymore? Every time I see him take a shot from 15 feet and out he misses.

Edit: nvm I watched his highlights from last night. His jumper looks fine.

This right here. I think the only team that would give them a challenge playing a half court game is Philly, and a lot of that is because AD doesn't play well against Embiid.

mademan wrote:Once they get Iggy, who will eventually be bought out, they'll have a decent bench. I still think they need to trade Kuzma for a ball handler who can do something in the PnR, but i still put them up there with any team in the league.

But ya, Kawhi delaying his decision killed their depth. If they coulda got Wright/Lamb/Morris and kept Caruso/Kuzma, minimums still for guys like Mcgee/Daniels...they'd be a lot better. But Magic or no Magic, this is still a terribly managed team who gave de facto NTC to guys like KCP. Just awful

They dont need another bad 3 point shooter.

Which rosters are ‘impressive’?

I don't consider much can be taken from the first game of the season given the Lakers' massive roster overhaul in comparison to Kawhi being plugged into an already established group. Further, Utah and Dallas, both playoff teams, were challenges as well. Why are they being overlooked because the Lakers beat them?

The Lakers have the 3rd best defense in the league, the highest point differential, plus AD & LeBron. Don't forget this is a new group, and they're getting more acclimated to eachother with each game. As long as they're healthy, they're going to be a difficult out in the playoffs.

I like how their roster fits, both defensively and from a chemistry perspective. Guys like Green and Bradley know their place on offense and give you all out effort on the defensive end.

McGee and KCP are underperforming but they still have time. Iggy in place of KCP, as that big wing off the bench, is what they are missing.
Don't believe the hype...

give kuzma a couple weeks to get back in the swing of things, he's got a axe to grind and a contract to earn.

They aren't a great team, and they don't have good coaching, but they aren't terrible either. This is their window though. LeBron is a month or so from his 35th birthday. He probably only has 1 more really good year after this one.
