Which just makes it worse now doesn't it? Before, I took solace in the fact that the Blazers would eventually move CJ for better fitting pieces. Now I have to suck up a guy who basically guarantees this team being mediocre until the end of his increasingly untradeable contract.

Or... the Warriors Shot 14 free throws in the last 3 minutes because you guys were fouling to try to catch up.

A foul is a foul. I dont care who you are or what team you play for. If the ref's are gonna call the contact on one end, they'd best be calling it o the other end. There were a number of plays down the stretch where the ref's swallowed their whistle. Rewatch the game if you disagree.

LMAO.... "Rewatch the game".... now that would be cruel and unusual punishment.

Yikes.

Had to record the game to watch later...now I'm not so sure I will. Got smacked down by a bunch of Gleaguers? :o

These types of games are tough because they are impossible to gameplan. I expect the Blazers to play with more synergy on both ends for stretches of the season. Perhaps this is a low point. If it's going to happen, I'd rather it happened now than later in the season. Guys like Mario, Hood, Bazemore, and Tolliver are inconsistent, that's why they are bargain players (well, Baze should be a bargain player). And Simons is a kid. Perhaps we are all (me included) expecting a little too much out of them.

But the reality is the team was hamstrung by Olshey's idiotic 2016 spending spree. A lot of these offseason moves feel like a "did the best we could, given the circumstances..."

Last year the Blazers lost their second best player for potentially most of this season...it was always going to be a struggle. What bothers me is that Lillard has broken down in the POs for years now, and he's going to have to go harder than ever in order to even make the POs. The truth is they should be finding ways to give him breaks other than All Star Weekend.

I also wonder what kind of effect losing defensive coordinator David Vanterpool to Minny and the promotion of Nate Tibbetts to that position has had...

Blazers lost two good defenders with some size, and it's still early...but so far Portland's defense has been pretty bleak.

Before the game I was thinking, "The Blazers are probably going to crush this team, because they are so awful, and give me false hope." Never did I imagine we would actually be beaten quite handily.

The Blazers must miss the former supporting cast much more than anyone realized, because there's no way I can see last year's team losing a game like this.

Now the Warriors did get 36 foul shots to Portlands 14, and they refs were basically blowing the whistle anytime the Warriors drove or initiated any contact....but it was still a pathetic performance from the Blazers.

Will CJ get better? Sure...... that's irrelevant. He's getting paid too much to be a franchise sinking contract for 1/3 of the season. I don't want excuses for him, I'm done with them... and I'm sick of the petty excuses. You can't earn the kind of money he does and not only not play well, but actively DESTROY the team in the process for a full 1/3 of the season. He has regressed every year since 2016-17, and every year he looks worse than the last and shows ZERO improvement in any facet of his game. I for one have had enough. I'd had enough last year, and now I'm just nauseous with his play and the lack of accountability that he is allowed to play with.

He's been taking awful shots... he's not hitting open shots. He's got tunnel vision to an extreme extent. He doesn't play defense. He's not a good rebounder. Enough with the excuses, he's getting paid ffffffffffffffffffffffaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr too **** much to be out there playing like ass almost every game. Get this **** out of here and let's shift his salary to positions that don't have 3 capable players waiting in the wings.

But how do you really feel?

The problem at this point is: Who do we trade him for that improves us? I think one of the issues with trading him is that when he is on, he is on and people (management) won't want to trade him for the packages he would land us, and when he is off it is just selling low.

hassan whiteside is an "empty stats" guy, he sure can put up a good stats, but his impact is nowhere near close to nurkics impact on this team... when nurk came to the blazers (we were out of the playoff spots at that moment), he single-handedly transformed blazers defense which was ranked as 23rd best defense at the time (if im not mistaken) and pushed the blazers into the playoffs, but not just defense, hes much better fit offensively, much better screen setter, we can run plays through him, much better pnr player, he simply has a better skill set offensively

following season, blazers had one of the best defenses in the league and it was thanks to nurkic... whiteside looks ok when hes on the floor with collins, cause collins can cover him up, but without collins, blazers will be in trouble... i dreamed about 4&5 combo with collins and nurkic last season and then nurks injury happened... can you imagine collins and nurk together, if collins can make whiteside look ok, imagine how would our defense look when our best defender comes back and join forces with collins

inject that **** straight into my veins 8-)

Stotts should use Little like Aminu and should give more time to Labassiere.

Last nights game was a ****, but primarily on the defensive end where the Blazers played like they expected the kids show on the warriors to go... "ooooh no! The Blazers!" and roll over.

Blazers are going to need to find some intensity and push to make the playoffs... that said, If anyone can do it.. it's Dame.

It was easy to see Portland would be treading water in the early part of the season for like them
or not, Aminu, Harkless and Turner played a majority of the rotation minutes at both forward
spot. The team doesn't have the Pat Connaughton's of the world or a Jake Layman who
have been in the system for 2-3 seasons ready to step in.

Eventually coach Stotts will settle on the rotation that gives the team the best chance to win
but without Collins, unless Nurkic comes back early, the team will have to play small and
perhaps hope Trent. Jr or Little come on during the season. CJ will come along which will
help but on paper, the team is as far away from a team that can play well in the Stotts
system that is based on balancing the court and outside shooting.
