Essentially the team sent medical info proving he's not right and needs to be rested, and the league agreed. Then Doc comes in and says he's perfectly fine, but he's only perfectly fine because of the amazing job they're doing with the rest, and the league fines him cause they just can't have him publicly contradict them, and what the team told them in private.

Doc will just never change lol, he gets in so many unnecessary messes for trying to put make up on situations that don't need any

actually it was what they call a Kinsley gaffe

of course Kawhi could have played last night instead of tonight
Doc just blew the cover on the Clippers' and the NBA's BS

Few players are "Clutch" with the ball in their hands at the end of the game...

Even fewer are "Clutch" with the ball in the hands of the man he's guarding, at the end of the game.

whenever i think of kobe i think of him going 6-22 in a finals game and being lauded as some sort of all time closer.

so i'd like to think more of jordan when i look at kawhi.

Serious?? :noway:

Kawhi already knows he can not only beat Giannis, but neuter him like a kitty at an adoption clinic. However, did he get to play against Portland Trailblazers in a high stakes 7 game series where Dame and CJ went all out? No. Kawhi is literally just trying to play against the best guys, learn how they play, learn how to stop them, so that he has the confidence to beat them going into Playoffs because he analyzed their playstyle, broke it down, and conquered it. The Blazers are a slept on team. They were just in the Western Conf Finals for crying out loud, regardless of whether or not you think they deserved to be there. That's an opponent you would want to study by battling.

Kawhi and Co held Dame and CJ to 0 in the 4th, which is usually when Dame gets his fame. If you play basketball and you're pretty good at it, you'll understand the competitive side of it. When I beat guys that I play against frequently, it gives me that competitive edge where they know I'm the Alpha and it's hard to break through that. If you're a fan and you're not really a competitive alpha in basketball, you won't understand this part, but that's what is going through Kawhi's mind. He's a professional and he takes his job seriously.

Again, Kawhi is playing Chess. Sorry if some of you guys wanted to see Checkers lol. Also, coming from the Lob City days where Blake and CP3 would go ham in the regular season then die 2 games into playoffs... I'm just shocked at some of guys' views. You must be undercover Laker fans or Doris Burke's burner account. Let the Klaw rest, don't doubt his doctors unless you're a medical expert, zip it and let the man bring a title to the Clippers first please. :banghead:

Did we not say he can take off the Portland game and take off practice on the off days. Geez.. nobody on here including myself is against load management! :banghead: And so now we're Laker fans cause we wanted to see Kawhi vs Giannis in primetime? Really :noway:

FTR, BOTH games were nationally televised

I do think the NBA has an interest in preferring Kawhi play in the national TV games
OTOH, NO WAY they are going to be liable by interfering with medical recommendations

Can't Fix This Kind of Stupid

Yes, the fans shouldn't have any expectations at all. I'm sure the ticket for the Greek Freak cost the same as it does for the Charlotte Hornets or the Phoenix Suns. I'm sure the game being nationally televised didn't mean anything to the league or the fans. I'm sure every fan that wants to see him play against the Greek Freak doesn't give a **** about Kawhi or his leg.

**** his best interest.
**** his leg and the quad attached to it.

Nick is just bitter that Kawhi is passing LeBron up.

I think a lot of the debate stems from whether or not you actually believe he's injured. It seems from your comment above that you think he's actually healthy enough to play all 82 games. If you research quad tendinitis, it can be a very mysterious as well as chronic/lifetime issue to deal with. Some of the recommendations for athletes is to follow a 72 hour PRICE regimen following the inflammation of the area (think, after an tough game. The man relies on leg strength and footwork a ton). Again, I think some people are doubting his injury because they're not fully informed of the condition because Kawhi is a Kawhiet guy.

The alternative is he's 100% fully healthy and he's just skipping games because he's.... I guess a pussy? Shockingly, I don't subscribe to the latter theory.

Please don't buy the garbage the media is feeding you. If his quad issues act up on a back to back, then he would easily miss more games. And guess what, the media also happens to favor the Lakers and Lebron over the Clippers all the time. Guess who would be happy if Kawhi injured himself and missed more games and came into Playoffs battered up. The Lebronsexual Media. If we have ~17 back to backs this year, missing those isn't gonna be the worst thing in the world. Especially once PG13 comes into the mix.

espn has been all over this thing, and i mean guess what, talking points sell.

at the end of the day he's got an injury and a chronic condition that needs extra recovery time. fans are absolutely within their rights to have expectations, especially when doc rivers spouts off with things saying he's healthy or that there wouldn't be load management. however, once those expectations go into how a player should be dealing with their injury then that goes well beyond irrational and absurd. we're not the doctors. we're not the player. that isn't our leg.

either way, he's gonna do what's best for him and the team and i'm totally fine with that. we're gonna get to see him as close to full strength as possible in the playoffs which is what matters more than anything else. and while i absolutely do empathize with the guys who took time out of their day or spent money to see him play only to miss out, i'd just try to encourage people to keep looking at the big picture. i mean i was disappointed too when he didn't play vs the bucks. but the season's gonna just go on and personally i'd rather get over it than be miserable every time he sits.

Yeah I don't buy it for once second that Leonard wants to miss games just to take games off. If he felt like he can play 82 and was approved by his doctors, he would.

Is he being over cautious? Maybe but I'm not his doctor.

It's hard for me to believe a guy that has 3 a day's practice sessions in the off-season is ducking games because hes lazy. You hear about this dude legendary work ethic. From his teammates, organization, players like Kobe etc.

Why would this dude not want to play games and rest. It makes no sense. The media is trying to throw out narratives. ESPN is clickbaiting stuff , giving it weird titles and asking other players including clippers about load management trying to divide the team. It's stupid.
