The NCAA can just kiss it. Memphis University athletics expects a 4.5 million dollar boost from ticket sales and donations this year. We are going to be talking about 11k in moving expenses when the NCAA has made billions off these students?

I don't want to hear nonsense about how they get a free education while they are playing a game. They have to fully dedicate themselves to the team while they are there with very little time to actually concentrate on their classes and homework. Constantly working out during the season and off-season, practices, travel, games, tournaments, required team appearances, etc.

If they had a lifetime "free ride" scholarship where they could always come back and get a degree (or a new degree if the first degree isn't working out for them for whatever reason) at any point in their lives that may be different. The lifetime scholarship should also remain in place no matter what happens in their career. As it is, players can just as easily lose their scholarships if they have a career ending injury or if they don't meet expectations.

I will never understand how it is legal for the NCAA to punish an 18 yr old legal adult for a violation that their parents commit. Shame on the courts for allowing the ncaa to get away with this ridiculous travesty for this long.

lol wut?

I try not to give RealGM a hard time over typos and stuff, this is all "free" and ad-based so I appreciate their efforts. But get facts right, please. Wiseman attends Memphis.

Wiseman doesn’t need the NCAA, he should be making millions of $ already anyway.

Something about Penny giving a million the University of Memphis in 2008, and then giving Wiseman's family $10 thousand to help them relocate to Memphis in 2017.
