Kyrie Irving Was Concerned About Knicks' Management When Making Free Agency Decision

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Nov 8, 2019 9:02 pm

Kyrie Irving appeared to settle on the Brooklyn Nets as his free agent choice several weeks before June 30th when his decision was announced.

Irving was also linked to the New York Knicks, but he reportedly was concerned about the situation of their management.

“When it came down to the Nets and Knicks he was concerned about the management of the Knicks,” said a person familiar with Irving’s thinking. “It’s really as simple as that.”

The Knicks had hoped to sign both Irving and Kevin Durant in 2019, which was part of the reason why they traded Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks.

trading a potential superstar for two players that have no legal commitment to you. Bad management. It's been a rough ride :noway:

If he was, he wouldn't have gone to Brooklyn, they're not that much better than the **** show that is the Knicks.

So we know that's a lie...

Have you seen what Marks has done in Brooklyn after the debacle that was the Prokhorov ownership? I’m guessing not.

He's really done a masterful job. It should be a good run if all goes well.

I mean how does this constitute news? Knicks fans are concerned about management. Although not signing this morale sucking chucker to a max deal is not among their errors.

Kyrie should have kept his mind shut.

Exactly...this was actually good news for the Knicks. Never liked Kyrie Irving.

I'm not entirely sure which party was more concerned about which here.

As for the Knicks being a dumpster fire, let Irving operate in Brooklyn for two years. Nets fans may or may not feel inclined to laugh at the Knicks after that anymore.
