It's incredibly rare to find a player with such extreme self control and discipline as Frank. He NEVER takes a bad shot.

That is why he is a championship caliber player.

No one ever brings this up.

Because his lack of aggression in terms of shooting the ball is one of his biggest problems, not something to be celebrated.

And it’s odd to say it’s never brought up. His lack of aggression is one of the main talking points.

That’s why the last game was such a positive, he was still being passive at times but much less so.

Full disclosure, Im team Frank all day. But even if you're not, how can you be ,at worst, dissatisfied with what Frank is bringing at the moment. He's evolving which is about all you can ask of these young prospects.

He's showing an area of the game that many said would be impossible to see from him. He's been aggressive on the offensive side, but just the right amount of aggression. He's even ticked up his intensity on the defensive side while reducing fouling. Been an impressive streak from him lately with consistent minutes and a defined role. Which is what us Frank stans have been clamoring for.

Frank still needs to go to the rim more.

Yeah, there are times when I'm like "Turn the corner! Turn the corner!" But it's there for him. His mind set is so geared toward not making a mistake and causing a turnover. So adorable.

Exactly like that. Or even better just learn how to draw some contact on a drive and get to the FT line.

Probably. But as long as he keeps hitting threes, we can live with those mistakes and give him time to watch film and improve on the court.

Hell I'm okay with him just being another version of Battier. Play his defense, master the corner 3, and the rest is gravy.

He's a career 36% shooter. He better not be taking difficult shots. That said I saw a "highlight" of him driving and getting stopped then taking a turn around shot from around the free throw area. It went in, and made a nice highlight, but I wouldn't say it was a great shot.

Exactly. Especially since the Kid possesses a clutch free-throw shooting gene.

If he's able to play consistent minutes for the rest of the season than I think he'll get consideration for an All NBA defensive team. His defense has always been top notch but this year he's playing with an added layer of aggression which has taken his defense to another level. A defender capable of covering 3 positions with the defensive IQ he has is a valuable piece for this teams' core.

His dribbling clearly improved from his first 2 seasons, I'd like to see him have the freedom to operate in the pick and roll setting more often with the bigs. I was pleasantly surprised with the 2 man game he played with Gibson during the 1st quarter against the 76ers. If the other options are for Randle or Morris to setup the offense, I'd rather Frank be the primary ballhandler and orchestrate from the PnR more frequently.

The Knicks could’ve wound up with Donovan Mitchell, one of the best young guards in the NBA, if they were willing to listen to Rick Pitino.

According to Rick Pitino.

“I tried to get the Knicks to take him, and nah [they said] they can’t take him at that number,” Pitino, Mitchell’s coach at Louisville, said on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

That number was the eighth overall pick in the 2017 draft, during which the Knicks took Frank Ntilikina in the last move made by then-president Phil Jackson before he was let go. Five picks later, the Jazz selected Mitchell, the Elmsford, N.Y. native who has blossomed into a star, being named to the NBA’s All-Rookie first team and the winner of the 2018 Slam Dunk Contest. This year, Mitchell has gotten even better, averaging 24.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

“Donovan I knew would be a star in the league,” Pitino said. “I always felt he could play the one. Can he run a pick-and-roll? Without question. Can he get other people shots? Without question. So, I always knew he could play two positions. He’s just a unique personality.”

i don't post this to make the knicks look bad, this is the reality of the draft. nobody ever really picks someone who is mocked much later. it's very rare. because if you f*ck up it looks a lot worse. like i said in another thread, if the jazz had 8 they don't take donovan.
